Hitman III to feature PlayStation VR Mode

Date:

Straight out the block from Sony Interactive Entertainment’s (SIE) State of Play broadcast today was news regarding IO’s Hitman III. It’s been revealed that the entire videogame will be PlayStation VR compatible.

Hitman III

Only a few scarce details were revealed during the short video but it did include gameplay footage showing Agent 47 tracking some unfortunate target before getting out some wire to do what he does best. This will be the first time virtual reality (VR) players will properly get in the skin of the famous assassin to control his every move. There was Hitman Go: VR Edition back in 2016 but that’s not quite the same.

Hitman III was first announced back in June coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC, finally concluding the trilogy. The story sees him return for the ‘most important contracts of his entire career’, whilst also allowing all the locations from Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 to be imported and played if you own them. Additionally, any progression from the second game is carried over into Hitman III.

So yes this also means that the entire trilogy can be played using PlayStation VR notes developer IO Interactive on PS Blog: “We’re proud to announce that we are bringing VR support to every location from all three games. That’s right! Every location from the World of Assassination trilogy can be played in VR, when you play them in Hitman 3. That’s quite the enticing prospect.

Hitman III

Hitman III has already been slated for a January 2021 release across all platforms so that’s something PlayStation VR owners can look forward to early next year. For further updates, keep reading VRFocus.
