Here are dev1ce’s CS:GO settings and crosshair

Avatar

Published

on

Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz is a professional CS:GO player from Denmark.

Though he carved his name on the wall of Hall of Famers due to his time and success on Team Astralis, dev1ce has been active in the scene since 2011. Before 2016, dev1ce was always one step short of glory, but his consistency finally started paying off, and he went onto win four major titles alongside over 10 MVP awards in his name.

Compared to the new generation of players like s1mple and ZywOo, dev1ce’s play may not look that flashy. It’s his mind that sets him apart since he always knows the right place to be in a round of CS:GO.

If you’re looking to become as consistent as dev1ce, then copying his settings can help you better understand his gameplay. Professional players spend a lot of time perfecting their settings, but some can still be up to personal preference. If any of the settings end up feeling off, don’t hesitate to make any changes since you can only make them better with your adjustments.

Here’re dev1ce’s CS:GO settings.

Dev1ce’s mouse settings

Dev1ce’s mouse settings ensure a perfect balance between precision and speed. While it may still be slower than what you may be used to, dev1ce’s mouse settings are faster than most professional CS:GO players.

Veterans may opt-out for lower sensitivity settings to ensure a more stable aim but make up for it by using lighter gaming mice and XL mousepads.

If you’re happy with your sensitivity settings, the most crucial adjustment here is dev1ce’s Polling Rate. Keeping your Polling Rate at 1000 Hz will ensure the lowest possible delay between your click by reducing the response time to a minimum.

DPI 400 Sensitivity 1.90
eDPI 760 Polling Rate 1000 Hz
Zoom Sensitivity 1.00 Mouse Acceleration 0
Windows Sensitivity 6 Raw Input 1
[Zowie S1]

Dev1ce‘s video settings

Despite having a top-of-the-line gaming PC, dev1ce prefers keeping visual settings at their minimum values alongside using a lower resolution. Some can call it a habit, but the following settings layout can make aiming more easier.

The stretched resolution effectively makes your targets wider and fewer details in the game means there will be less eye-candy that will divide your attention.

The computers provided during LAN events around 2010 and 2013 were also quite weak in terms of specs, so most old school players kept playing with the lowest settings as a safety measure.

Resolution 1024 x 768 Aspect Ratio 4:3
Refresh Rate 240 Hz Scaling Mode Black Bars
Color Mode Computer Monitor Brightness 120 percent
Display Mode Fullscreen Laptop Power Savings Disabled
Global Shadow Quality Very Low Model / Texture Detail Low
Texture Streaming Disabled Effect Detail Low
Shader Detail Low Boost Player Contrast Enabled
Multi-core Rendering Enabled Multi-sampling Anti-Aliasing Mode 2x MSAA
FXAA Anti-Aliasing Disabled Texture Filtering Mode Billinear
Wait for Vertical Sync Disabled Motion Blur Disabled
[NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 TI]

Dev1ce‘s crosshair settings

To use dev1ce’s crosshair settings, you can copy and paste the following commands to your in-game console, or your “config.cfg” file.

While the console should be enough to do the trick, sometimes it may fail to make your settings permanent. To avoid going through this process again in the future, we recommend using the “config.cfg” route.

Your “config.cfg” file should be located under your “Userdata/Steam ID” folder. You can check out this tutorial if you never heard of your configs before or would like more thorough explanation on where it’s.

  • cl_crosshairstyle 4; cl_crosshaircolor 2; cl_crosshairsize 2; cl_crosshairgap -2; cl_crosshairthickness 0; cl_crosshairdot 0; cl_crosshair_drawoutline 0; cl_crosshair_sniper_width 1; cl_crosshairalpha 255; cl_crosshaircolor_b 144; cl_crosshaircolor_g 195; cl_crosshaircolor_r 27;

Dev1ce‘s viewmodel settings

Viewmodel settings help players gain extra screen space by reducing the amount of area the guns occupy.

Following settings won’t shrink your gun, but you’ll start seeing less of it after applying.

Like dev1ce’s crosshair settings, you can paste them either on your console, config, or autoexec file.

  • viewmodel_fov 68; viewmodel_offset_x 2.5; viewmodel_offset_y 1.5; viewmodel_offset_z -1.5; viewmodel_presetpos 0; cl_viewmodel_shift_left_amt 0; cl_viewmodel_shift_right_amt 0; viewmodel_recoil 0; cl_righthand 1;

Dev1ce‘s bobbing settings

Bobbing refers to how much your gun moves when you start moving in CS:GO. Though it’s a regular interaction, this back-and-forth movement animation can be distracting while trying to shoot simultaneously.

Completely disabling this animation isn’t possible, but dev1ce’s bobbing settings should at least help you reduce the movement to a minimum.

  • cl_bob_lower_amt 5; cl_bobamt_lat 0; cl_bobamt_vert 0; cl_bobcycle 0;

T1 re-signs top laner Canna, extends contract until 2022

Kim “Canna” Chang-dong has agreed to a new contract with T1 until 2022, the organization announced today

The player, who joined the team in 2019, has committed to at least another year with T1. He will take an equal share of the top lane with Choi “Zeus” Woo-je, who was promoted from T1’s academy on Nov. 26.

“We’re excited to announce that Canna has extended his contract with T1 until 2020,” the organization said.

Although T1 failed to qualify for the 2020 League of Legends World Championship after losing 3-0 to Gen.G in the Regional Finals, Canna had a promising first year with the team. He proved to be a consistently strong force in the top lane, barely missing a beat.

With newly acquired support player Ryu “Keria” Min-seok, formerly of DragonX, and Faker and Teddy locked in for the next LCK season, T1 will look to right its wrongs in 2021.

New head coach Yang “Daeny” Dae-in and assistant coach Lee “Zefa” Jae-min, formerly of DAMWON Gaming, will help the the legendary organization climb back up the ranks.

Khan joins DAMWON as team’s new top laner

DAMWON, the winner of the 2020 League of Legends World Championship, has acquired former FunPlus Phoenix and SKT top laner Kim “Khan” Dong-ha, the organization announced today.

While there’s been no official word from DAMWON, the signing likely means Jang “Nuguri” Ha-gwon will be parting ways with the team. The top laner, who dominated at Worlds 2020, is reportedly the “biggest fish” in the LCK market, having received multiple offers from teams in the LCK and LPL.

Khan, after a promising year with SKT in 2019, joined former World Champions FunPlus Phoenix in 2020. He took an equal share of the top lane with Kim “GimGoon” Han-saem but failed to live up to expectations.

The usual lane dominant Khan lagged behind in the LPL, placing eighth in the Summer Split, before losing 3-2 to Invictus Gaming in the Regional Finals.

Despite a poor year, DAMWON has full faith in Khan’s abilities. Khan will “add more skill to the team based on his experience as a professional gamer for eight years,” the organization said.

DAMWON, with the acquisition of Khan, will hope to repeat its Worlds-winning performance in 2021 and contend again for the title. Khan will join Canyon, ShowMaker, Ghost, and BeryL heading into next season.

Super Smash Bros. Melee Slippi mod launches broadcast feature early in response to #FreeMelee

Avatar

The Super Smash Bros. Melee competitive scene owes a lot of its success in the pandemic-laden year of 2020 to Fizzi and the Slippi online mod. And now, as the community faces a potential turning point following Nintendo’s cancellation of a major tournament, a new feature could change everything.

In response to Nintendo levying a cease and desist against The Big House Online, one of the largest yearly Smash events, because the tournament organizer planned on using Slippi to run the Melee portion of the event online, Fizzi is releasing broadcasting support for the mod.

Now, all players will have the ability to broadcast to specific viewers, which was specifically designed to help tournament organizers run events without having to micromanage everyone playing in it through a Discord server or other community hub. Fizzi’s goal with pushing this live now is to help more people easily run their events and promote the #FreeMelee movement.

The release was originally going to come as part of a bigger update that would flesh out the broadcast features with things like website integration tools, metadata displays for ongoing games, and the ability to run public broadcasts for platforms like Twitch directly. Because Fizzi is pushing broadcasting support live early the extended functionality had to be cut, though it might be added at a later date.

As the developer of the app, Fizzi and his team originally planned to monetize the broadcast features to help support the development and upkeep for Slippi. But he decided it was more important to support the Melee scene as it continues to support itself in the face of Nintendo opposing its growth.

“As a result of #FreeMelee, I decided to move up the broadcasting release,” Fizzi said. “Originally I was going to monetize this feature but I am now releasing it free so that anyone can easily and freely run events. Give it a try!”

Fizzi also noted that his costs for running the servers for Slippi, which he individually supports, is reaching close to $1,000 per month. As a result, he is asking for the community’s help and support as he continues to work on improving Slippi.

You can learn more about Slippi, the broadcast features that are now live, and how you can help support Fizzi, his team, and the development of Slippi on the official Slippi website.

The 7 best low-back gaming chairs

Avatar

Published

on

A comfortable gaming chair is essential for long gaming sessions.

They offer support in all the right areas, leaving you refreshed and without aches and pains. Some gaming chairs even have features like built-in speakers or RGB lighting and can sync with your other devices.

Most gaming chairs these days follow the bucket-seat formula with a high back with pillows and vents. The problem is that not everyone wants a tall and bulky chair. Some gamers prefer chairs with lower backs and don’t enjoy an enormous headrest restricting their movement. Others may choose a gaming chair that can double as an office chair. Many gaming chairs are also brightly colored and may not fit into your room’s aesthetic, so something more subtle would be more appropriate.

Here are some of the best low-back gaming chairs, so you can try something different.

Image via Amazon

The OFM Racing Style Bonded Leather Gaming Chair has a similar bucket style to most gaming chairs, but it’s smaller. This chair has a stylishly contoured shape with ample cushioning. It also comes in many colors, including blue, red, pink, and even arctic camo. It’s constructed from a mixture of leather and soft mesh padding to keep you cool.

This chair has survived a 46.6-mile castor test, a 300-pound drop test, and was tilted 100,000 times to test its durability. It’s also height-adjustable and has 360-degree swivel capability. The OFM Gaming Chair is also very affordable and a less bulky alternative to other gaming chairs.

Homall is known for its outstanding gaming chairs, but they also make the Computer Ergonomic Desk Chair that’s comfortable enough for hours of play. It’s reasonably priced and offers excellent cushioning and lumbar support. The base is made from sponge and then covered in mesh fabric. The arched backrest also uses the same mesh fabric because it allows air circulation to keep you cool.

The curved back ensures adequate lumbar support, and the curved armrests are comfortable and easy to hold. This chair also has a large, 250-lbs weight capacity and rugged castors with a 360-degree swivel movement. It’s equally at home in the office or for gaming and worth a look if you want a compact chair.

The Cougar Ranger is a reclining gaming couch with an impressive design. It’s shaped like a small couch but has features usually associated with gaming chairs like diamond stitching, lumbar pillows, and the large Cougar logo. The build quality is exceptional, with PU leather used around a steel frame. The stitching and attention to detail are also top-notch, and it comes in a range of colors, including orange, green, blue, and purple.

Assembling the Cougar Ranger is a piece of cake and should take less than half an hour for most people. The standout feature is the 165-degree recliner with tiltable footrest. It’s fantastic for putting your feet up and playing some Apex Legends and feels more stable than most racing chairs. The Ranger Cougar is an excellent alternative to conventional gaming chairs, but it doesn’t move around or swivel.

The Hbada Office Task Desk Chair is probably the chair stormtroopers use to play Star Wars: Squadrons. It has a modern black and white color scheme that stands out from all its rival. This futuristic-looking chair has rounded edges on every surface to make it child-friendly, and it also has flip-up arms for more accessible storage. The base has thick sponge cushioning covered by a breathable high-density black mesh, and the backrest gives extra support to the lower back.

Premium materials are used to make this chair, and it shows. The cylinder is SGS level 3 certified, and the nylon caster wheels are wear-resistant and non-slip. The Hbada chair is also height adjustable and has a 120-degree rocker function. More importantly, it’s very comfortable and a pleasant place to sit and play Call of Duty for hours.

The Big Joe Dorm Bean Bag Chair is just the place to sink into, relax, and play some VALORANT. It’s a bean-bag couch made from a durable water-resistant and stain-resistant fabric called Smartmax. All the covers are double-stitched, and it has two heavy-duty zippers. This chair molds to the shape of your body, and you can even refill it with Ultimax Beans available from the suppliers.

The Big Joe even has a drink holder and a side storage pocket so your favorite snacks are nearby while you play. It also comes with a convenient carry handle so you can move it around if you have to. The Big Joe is a different take on what a gaming chair can be, and it’s worth a look for the comfort factor.

The NeueChair is made by Secretlab, the same company that makes the famous Omega Gaming chair. It’s quite pricey, but it has incredible build-quality and a very high level of customization. This chair is made from NeueMesh, a mix of polyester fiber and DuPont yarn, and has an AC12 aluminum frame. It also has a hydraulic system that’s passed SGS and TUV testing.

Some of the standard features include the height and rocker adjustment, and you can pivot both armrests left or right. You can also adjust the seat forward and backward. The lumbar support cushion can even move up and down or back and forth, depending on your preference. The NeueChair may come at a cost, but you get exceptional comfort once you adjust it to your measurements.

The Respawn Skull Trooper-V Fortnite Gaming Chair doesn’t have a low back, but the headrest is much smaller than most gaming chairs. Fortnite fans will be delighted at the skull trooper theme and fantastic attention to detail. The Fortnite logo is embossed on the headrest, and there’s also a skull and crossbones motif on the armrest. Both the backrest and the seat offer ample padding, and the armrests can flip up if you don’t need them.

This gaming chair is also height-adjustable and can recline between 90 and 105 degrees. You don’t have to worry about stains because the PU leather is stain-resistant and easy to clean. It’s also breathable and will keep you cool for long sessions. It’s unlikely to break because it has a limited lifetime warranty.
