HCL to take on 10,000 for AWSBU

Date:

HCL Technologies will be hiring 10,000 professionals for its recently-launched Amazon Web Services (AWS) Business Unit (AWSBU). The recent unit within HCL is supported by AWS engineering and aims to help businesses transform their traditional systems and adopt cloud technologies for more efficiency.

The new business unit will help organisations migrate to more advanced technologies even while managing SAP loads on AWS. Presently, HCL has five AWS competencies with over 10,000 AWS experts. The Company aims to double the number soon.

HCL is an AWS Premier Consulting Partner with the ability to provide an end-to-end road map for adopting AWS to cater to the needs of the mutual customers.

According to Doug Yeum, head of WW channels and alliances, AWS, “With the launch of the HCL AWS Business Unit, HCL will leverage its vertical-first focus on FSI, telco, and energy and utilities plus deep technical expertise on SAP, contact centres, hybrid cloud and mainframe modernisation to transform businesses and consumer behaviour using technology when they need it the most.”

In the words of Kalyan Kumar, chief technology officer and head, ecosystems, HCL Technologies, “The AWS BU is an important part of our larger #HCLCloudSmart strategy in servicing every aspect of cloud delivery to build effective ecosystems that help our customers stay ahead of their competitors.”

By “leveraging our extensive relationship with AWS, the AWS BU synergises the best of what both companies have to offer, driving digital, cultural and customer-centric transformations,” added Kumar.

The business unit will lend support to clients to migrate at scale in a cost-effective manner and also focus on experimentation by combining HCL’s experience and expertise in building adaptive cloud smart portfolios, and AWS’s depth and breadth of services and rapid innovation.

As a global systems integrator (GSI) and an independent software vendor (ISV), HCL is in a position to help organisations worldwide, both with a cloud-focused ecosystem and product innovation strategy.

The final objective of the unit is to facilitate exponential revenue growth and enhanced user experience by developing customised industry solutions, built with AWS services and investment.

For instance, recently, it came up with 1PLM, a solution that helps manufacturing companies transform their computer-aided design (CAD) and product lifecycle management (PLM) infrastructure into an on-demand, scalable and agile environment helping drive business innovation in the new normal.
