Hackers know some people just can’t resist the allure of free porn, as 100,000 Facebook users learned the hard way. In just 2 days this week 100,000 Facebook users downloaded malware disguised as free porn. In this case, free comes with an unexpected cost.

Facebook Users

When the user clicks on a message a supposed porn video posted to their timeline, the user is instructed to download a player to view the porn movie. What actually downloads is a Trojan malware that hijacks the victims key and mouse. The victim’s account is taken over and the malware sends the video to their friends.

Besides using Comodo Internet Security, which should be able to handle the malware, Facebook user’s should use common sense. Porn is often used by hackers to trick targets into download viruses. In addition, porn is against Facebook policies so something is not right to begin with.

Facebook has said that it working to stop the spread of this threat. However, user’s should always be wary of free offers, especially of illicit materials.
