Frank Kaminsky signs deal with Atlanta Hawks

Date:

Former Suns center Frank Kaminsky has signed with a new team. Reportedly, Kaminsky will sign a one-year contract with the Atlanta Hawks for the 2022-2023 season. The exact amount of money that he will be paid next year is unclear at time of writing.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the news via Twitter on Friday afternoon.

Kaminsky is probably best well-known for his time as a Wisconsin Badger. He was a member of the Wisconsin team that took down previously undefeated Kentucky in the NCAA Tournament, making the Final before eventually falling to Duke. He was drafted ninth overall by the Charlotte Hornets in the 2015 NBA Draft. After five seasons there, he spent 2019-2022 in Phoenix.

Last season, Kaminsky played in just nine games, starting none of them, which skewed his stats. During the 2020-2021 season, he played in 47, however, scoring 6.6 points per game and grabbing 4.0 rebounds per game. He also shot the second-best percentage of his career from behind the three-point line, at 36.5 percent.
