FPX part ways with Devilwalk, peca

Date:

FunPlus Phoenix announced on Monday that they parted ways with coach Jonatan “Devilwalk” Lundberg under mutual agreement, which followed shortly after General Manager Petar “peca” Marković revealed on Twitter that his time with the organization has come to an end.

The managerial changes follow a couple of underwhelming months for FunPlus Phoenix. Jesse “zehN” Linjala and co. missed out on a spot at the CS:GO Major in Stockholm, failed to qualify for premier events such as IEM Cologne and ESL Pro League, and crashed out of the top 30 of the world rankings in the leadup to these changes.

Devilwalk has been with the team since the NoChance era in 2019

Both Devilwalk and peca have expressed their intention to continue with their roles in new teams. The Serbian, who also managed FunPlus Phoenix‘s Valorant division, said that “after an exciting year, it’s time for me to chase new endeavors,” while the Swedish Major winner stated that he is open to offers in CS:GO or Valorant.

FunPlus Phoenix‘s international roster is currently competing in the IEM Winter 2021 Europe Closed Qualifier with the hopes of earning a spot at the $250,000 event in December, which could give them something to fill their otherwise empty calendar with, as well as offer a chance to climb back up the ranks.

FunPlus Phoenix are now:

Finland Jesse “zehN” Linjala
Slovakia Martin “STYKO” Styk
Montenegro Pavle “Maden” Bošković
Denmark Asger “Farlig” Jensen
Serbia Luka “emi” Vuković
