Forza Horizon 5 enters its ninth season today, beginning a new four-week cycle of events and unlocks to collect in Series 9.

The launch of Series 9 comes together with a game update, which has been deployed earlier this week.

The patch adds a few new features, like the ability to play the Horizon Stories in co-op up to six players (the best score is applied to everyone), the addition of TAA (temporal anti-aliasing) on PC which works better than MSAA at lower screen resolutions like 1080p, and a new monthly Festival Playlist event, Forza EV Monthly Rivals. This one is like the usual monthly Rivals time trial, but will highlight the many selections of electric-powered vehicles on offer in the racing game.

Series 9 is celebrating all things Hot Wheels, to hype up the upcoming expansion that will be released about four weeks from now. Unlike the last Series, we’re getting more new cars, though most of them are returning from past Forza Horizons.

All of the Hot Wheels cars added in Series 9 had appeared before either in Forza Horizon 3 Hot Wheels expansion or Forza Horizon 4 Hot Wheels Car Pack DLC. However, this time these cars are now part of the base game, so everyone has a chance to earn them, no extra purchase necessary.

Forza Horizon 5 Series 9 New Cars Earnable From Festival Playlist

For Series 9, four new cars are earnable via the weekly Festival Playlist milestones, three are being added to wheelspins, and the final three cars that make up the Car Pass DLC will be made available.
