A new Fortnite leak holds the belief that the popular Rift Zones from previous seasons will be returning to the game soon.
Over the years, Fortnite’s creator Epic Games has come up with various different ways to keep the Fortnite battle royale fresh and full of ideas. This goes from big major changes that affect how players play the game to smaller harmless changes such as easter eggs.
Depending on who you ask, one of the most popular changes was the addition of Rift Zones back in Season X. Players could spot these zones by seeing ginormous Rift Beacons each week.
These zones would create interest, they would pop up and give players reasons to explore. Things like health items, the ability to only use one certain weapon while within the zone all come to mind. Rift Beacons were used once again in Chapter 2 of Season 4 but they weren’t quite the same.
Different teases over the last few seasons have hinted at the return of them but it appears as if they will finally return for Season 7, although not quite the same.
Epic are bringing back the idea of Rift Zones, The Mothership is planned create these zones (probably with a beam):
– Low Gravity
– Prop Disguise (Like Season X but limited to the props in the right pic thanks to @gameshed_, prop gun is not limited)
– Rift/Teleport

Known leaker and data miner, HYPEX, claimed that Epic has already got plans to bring them back this season, and will likely be without the Rift Beacons being used as a form of tell. HYPEX didn’t seem to have the specific locations that would be affected by the zones. “All I know is that they appear in THAT order and not all at once… I’ll let y’all know later!” they said.
HYPEX also noted that things could change following the next Fortnite update, while also seeming determined in it being very soon.
