Fortnite has given players a myriad of movement options over the past five seasons. Fortnite has had sports cars, speed boats, portals, and even giant mechs, but nothing has ever been like the jetpack, especially with a recently discovered exploit.

Unfortunately, this exploit has limited use, unlike past exploits that could be used around the map. This exploit requires players to have a jetpack near lava. As of January 15, the only place that lava can be found is in the limited-time mode (LTM). Still, for players who enjoy the LTM this exploit can provide a great deal of enjoyment.

The crux of the exploit is based around using the jetpack right as the player hits the lava. For some reason, if executed correctly, this will send the player flying upwards infinitely. With some practice, it is a fairly easy exploit to pull off. Like many other exploits found in the game don’t expect it to stick around for long, especially after it gained some traction on Reddit.

While the exploit is still usable in the game there are some key strategies to keep in mind, even for players not looking to abuse the jetpack. The best time to use this exploit would be either at the beginning or at the end of a match.

At the beginning, the user could fly up so high that no enemy could possibly kill them, and then the strategy becomes hoping that the circle or lava kills everyone else. At the end of the game, it could be used to get an unexpected vantage point on enemies. Accuracy would, of course, be reduced, but most enemies wouldn’t expect to be shot by a flying enemy.
