FaZe outlast OG and move forward in BLAST Group C

Date:

FaZe have beaten OG 2-1 after losing the opening map of Inferno and then claiming wins on Ancient and Mirage. They move on in Group C and will face Complexity in a rematch from the opening round of the group, which saw the Benjamin “blameF” Bremer-led side come out victorious before faltering to NAVI.

Despite a good start to the series on Inferno and a close affair in their first Ancient appearance, OG now find themselves eliminated from Group C in last place and will have to go through the BLAST Showdown in order to qualify for the Fall Final.

broky came alive as the series went on

On OG‘s pick of Inferno, the international squad were slow to start on their T side despite winning pistol as FaZe extended an early lead, stringing six rounds together. OG were given an opportunity following a successful pistol buy round but ended the half down to FaZe 6-9.

Valdemar “valde” Bjørn Vangså secured his team the pistol round, helping his team gain momentum in the second half and tied the score up at 12-12. Mateusz “mantuu” Wilczewski led the squad as OG came alive on their CT side before Håvard “rain” Nygaard and Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer broke the streak at 14-13 winning a 2v4. Shahar “flameZ” Shushan responded immediately with a stellar ace, and OG went on to take the map 16-13.

With the series 1-0 to OG, FaZe looked to tie up the series on Ancient, a map where OG had had no recorded officials prior to the match. Managing to hang on in the first half after a slow start, the Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen-led side put nine CT rounds on the board. FaZe kicked into gear in the second half winning eight rounds and conceding two before OG found some success on their T half, but they fell short as FaZe took the map 16-14.

As the series went to Mirage, mantuu went missing after playing a big role in the success of OG on the first two maps. FaZe took control of the first half, getting into a 6-1 lead on their T side before OG began to claw back some rounds. Despite cooling off late in the first half and letting Aleksib and company get back into contention, FaZe took advantage of their lead and ran away with it, with OG looking lost and out of momentum as they lost the map 16-8.
