Capcom’s new dino-busting in exosuits game Exoprimal has made an appearance at Capcom Showcase 2022, showing a new trailer featuring new gameplay.

Exoprimal is a 5v5 game where your team compete against another in clearing objectives. At least in the main game mode, called Dino Survival.

This new trailer gives a glimpse of how that specifically works now that we’re acquainted with this new IP.

There are quite a variety of objectives, and the other teams do appear on the same map. And yes, you can interact with them, as in shoot and hit them up. This is confirmed a PvPvE game now.

Exoprimal Dino Survival Objectives

The objectives shown in the trailer include the following:

  • Dinosaur Cull- defeat specific dinos
  • VTOL Defense- tower defence, stop dino swarms from damaging the VTOL
  • Data Key Security- escort a payload, payload can be damaged (by dinos and the opposing team) and must be protected
  • Omega Charge- using the Omega Hammer, destroy target objects and remove barriers. Omega Hammer must be charged by defeating dinos
  • Energy Taker- Collect drop energy (motes), you can grab energy from opposing team by defeating them
  • Neo T. Rex- Unique Mission- work together with the opposing team to defeat Neo T. Rex before time limit. Limited respawns

The matches in Dino Survival are designed to be replayable but the objectives and how a match evolves will change as you make more progress and gain experience points.

The trailer also introduces two new exosuits.

Barrage, an assault class exosuit, is your demolitions expert with access to grenades and incendiaries. Works great at a close distance and uses a crossbow.

Meanwhile Vigilant, also assault class, is your long-range specialist as they have a sniper rifle.

In addition, exosuits can bring rigs, additional equipment that can be attached to any exosuit. These can compensate a suit’s weakness (give the close-range Zephyr a Cannon for long-range combat) or create synergies (the tanky Roadblock suit paired with the Aid rig can provide heals on the frontline).

Exoprimal Dinosaurs And Neosaurs

So far, here are some of the dinos, based on actual dinosaurs, you will see spawn in hordes that you must defeat in Exoprimal:

  • Anklyosaurus
  • Raptor
  • Pteranodon
  • Triceratops
  • T. Rex

Neosaurs are mutated dinosaurs, with added abilities. The confirmed neosaurs so far are the following:

  • Gas Neosaur (mutated raptor)- explode upon defeat, will close in to self-destruct
  • Sniper Neosaur (mutated raptor)- can teleport, fires projectiles

Exoprimal Closed Network Test

In addition, Exoprimal will have a closed network test starting in July. This will only be available on Steam, and the first session is only open to folks in North America (US/Canada). The two other sessions will be available globally.

The Closed Network Test runs at a very short window of time, however, as you can see below:
