Exium expands MSP driven SASE offerings to mobile, IoT devices | IoT Now News & Reports

Date:

Exium, a secure access services edge (SASE) provider that is purpose-built for managed services providers (MSPs), announced the expansion of its security offerings. Exium’s MSP partners can now secure mobile and IoT devices for their customers using the same unified platform and policies they use for PCs and office locations.

Exium SASE expands to natively support iOS, Android, Windows, MacOS, and Linux based devices whether they are mobile phones, tablets, laptops, or other devices. This is especially timely as attacks on mobile devices ramp up; a recent industry report noted that at least one employee in 46% of companies reportedly downloaded a malicious application on their phone.

Further, IoT devices such as printers and VoIP phones, which have long been neglected by legacy security vendors, can now also be protected. Legacy solutions typically provide minimal or no support for non-PC devices, often requiring MSP technicians to develop custom workarounds to get them to work and perform properly. IoT devices such as printers tend to be the least secure and highly targeted devices within companies.

With Exium, all mobile and IoT devices as well as PCs and office locations can be secured with internet security and zero-trust network access (ZTNA) from a single unified, multi-tenant platform. This platform provides complete visibility and extends zero-trust granular controls to all devices on the network – regardless of where the device is connecting from or the type of device. Finally IoT devices such as printers, cameras, and VoIP phones can get the same security protection as PCs without the use of workarounds and customisations.

Dependable security for hybrid work

Exium also announced that it is leveraging the WireGuard modern VPN protocol to power its SASE offerings. WireGuard is a more modern protocol that is designed to be more secure than older alternatives such as IPSec. Being connectionless, WireGuard is proven to deliver better performance with lower overhead and fewer disconnects. This is especially the case for remote or mobile workers who have inconsistent network connectivity. Better security, better performance, and lower overhead – exactly the characteristics of the Exium SASE platform itself.

MSPs can deploy and manage Exium’s services using the existing remote monitoring and management (RMM) and professional services automation (PSA) tools they already use. Exium is tightly integrated with the ConnectWise platform and other MSP tools to reduce the operational burden on partners.

“ConnectWise is excited that our partners can leverage Exium to offer deeper protection across end-users’ devices and office infrastructure,” says Raffael Marty, GM of cybersecurity, ConnectWise. “Delivering complete network security for all types of user or office devices from an easy to use, unified SASE platform drives growth and profitability for our partner base.”

Anyone attending ConnectWise’s IT Nation Secure conference in Orlando this week can test drive these capabilities live and experience the Exium’s SASE platform firsthand.
