Date:

Vietnam representative D’Xavier conquered the PUBG Mobile Pro League (PMPL) South East Asia Championship 2022. The team was in the lead straight from Day 1 and maintained that hype and momentum until the end. D’Xavier scored an extremely high 201 points over the course of 18 matches. After finishing as the runners up in PMPL Vietnam and PMGC East before this event, D’Xavier came in with a revenge, finally winning the trophy at the PMPL SEA Championships 2022 Spring.

Vampire Esports didn’t have the best of the starts but managed to make constant comeback plays to secure second place with 79 kills and 187 points. The team achieved this feat without a single battle royale win , which is absolutely outstanding. RRQ Ryu, who managed to slip to sixth place on Day 2, made a comeback with a couple of third place finishes in order to secure third place with 80 total kills and 166 points. RRQ Ryu Nerpheko won the MVP title and $3,000 straight in cash.

Eagle Esports remained at the second spot at the end of Day 2 and unfortunately ended in fourth place with 157 points, while Bacon Time took a huge jump forward to finish under the top five. The Infinity Team had an average performance in the championship, something most viewers were not expecting, and they accumulated 137 points in 18 matches.

Defending champions Team Secret placed on a horrific ninth place with 130 points, including 69 eliminations and one battle royale win. ION and Box Esports finished in 14th and 15th place, dead last respectively.

RRQ Ryu started the day rather well, achieving a win on the Erangel map with eight frags, afterwards Team Secret went absolutely berserk in the second match of Miramar to claim a huge 15 kill win. Alliance Yoodo at some point managed to show their known patient gameplay to win the third match of Erangel with eight frags.

Bacon Time heavily relied on their position to come out victorious in the fourth match on Sanhok, as the circle was on top of the team for most of the game providing enough control at the end of the day. D’Xavier won the fifth match of the day with 15 kills, this being the decider that helped them win the entire tournament. The Infinity Team took home the last match of the championship with a small amount of six frags.

The total prize pool for the tournament was $150K, with D’Xavier taking home a total of $31.5k as the absolute winner of the tournament, and Vampire Esports and RRQ Ryu receiving $20k and $16.5k, respectively for their own results.

In the past few years, Vietnam has witnessed an extreme amount of growth in the PUBG Mobile scene, and a team from the region has now also won the PMPL SEA Championships trophy. It will be exciting to see which team gets invited to the PUBG Mobile World Invitational 2022 moving forward.
