The long-anticipated DWG KIA World Championship skins are right around the corner, and we’ve finally been given a thorough look at their in-game models, animations, and accompanying effects! We already covered the splash art a couple of days ago, but back then that was all we had — a mere glimpse of what’s to come. That, while certainly enough to get the blood pumping, didn’t really paint the whole picture. Now, however, Riot has finally shown off these highly-anticipated skins in action!

As expected, the recall animations are accompanied with player signatures — a nice touch that adds a bit of personality to the whole thing; that way the individual behind the champion gets “immortalized” as well.
Naturally, all five Worlds skins bear resemblance to DWG KIA’s well-known white and blue color scheme. Riot even went a step further and took DWG KIA’s former logo and developed it into a wholly unique iconography, one that echoes the ancient Greek myths and patterns — a choice befitting the defending World Champions. This can perhaps best be seen with Jang “Nuguri” Ha-gwon’s Kennen skin whose ultimate “Slicing Maelstrom” packs some mighty impressive (and visually appealing) VFX.
Pricing and Availability
DWG Kennen, DWG Nidalee, DWG Twisted Fate, DWG Jhin, and DWG Leona will all set you back for 1350 RP apiece. All five skins are currently available for testing on the PBE which means they should be hitting live servers in a couple of weeks along with patch 11.9.
As for DWG KIA, four-fifths of their Worlds-winning roster will once again step foot on stage to compete against the best teams in the world at the 2021 Mid-Season Invitational in just a couple of weeks. They’re the biggest favorites, of course, but we’re hoping they’ll at least sweat a little en route to hoisting yet another prestigious trophy!
