DreamHack Melbourne is now just over a month away, and in the midst of the competitive esports tournaments and gaming culture to be experienced at Melbourne Park, ESL is utilising the Friday to educate the next generation of esports professionals with the DreamHack Melbourne Students Day.

DreamHack Melbourne Students Day, set for September 2 — the opening day of the festival — will see established industry professionals pass on their knowledge and experience to our inspired youth through panels, talks and workshops.

It won’t just be about those wishing to compete.

Alongside content creation, a smorgasbord of industry professions including casting & commentary, broadcast techs, observers & camera operations, producers, coaches and management roles will be featured through Students Day activities.

DreamHack Melbourne Students Day is about helping not just the aspiring creators and players, but those who’ll also go on to run events like DreamHack themselves one day.

The Students Day’s structure will allow the group leader to curate the group’s experience.

Between the managed schedule of workshops and panels, students will be encouraged to explore the rest of DreamHack’s offerings — from the expo to the live esports events.

CS:GO’s ESL Challenger will be one of said esports events, with the tournament held over the full three days.

The bulk of Students Day will be held in Margaret Court Arena and at CENTERPIECE, with topics including but not limited to esports employment, online safety in social media, life as a content creator and tertiary pathways explored via the panels.

Tickets for Students Day begin at $30 for children and $50 for adults. For those with a pass for Friday, entry for Students Day is already included with your ticket.
