Each Dragon Ball series or movie introduces us to new characters and powerful villains. However, the one thing that is always the same in most Dragon Ball projects is the focus on Goku and Vegeta. The creators don’t usually try anything besides putting these two characters in the spotlight. But, we got to see something new in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero.

The exclusion of the prominent characters (Goku and Vegeta) made the movie somewhat interesting, as it gave other characters a chance to shine. Fans who have watched the movie can’t deny that they didn’t expect what the creators have done to Gohan and Piccolo. Where the former unleashes his Beast form, the latter achieves a new form called Orange Piccolo.

Changes In Looks And Personality

The new transformation brings some massive changes in Piccolo’s personality. The Namekian turns from green to orange, as stated in the name of the transformation itself. His base form is known to have a lean muscular body, but in the Orange Piccolo form, he gets bulkier than ever before, and there’s a noticeable increase in his height too.

When Saiyans transforms, their hair color change, but as Piccolo is bald, it seems like the creators decided to make changes to his antenna. Piccolo’s antennas are always pointing downwards in his base and other forms. But, in the new form, his antennas can be seen straight, pointing towards the sky.

A change in Piccolo’s facial features and eyes is also noticeable. His pupils turn dark red, and a black shade surrounds his eyes after the transformation.

Orange Piccolo Is Almost At Par With Goku

While Piccolo is not the weakest character in the Dragon Ball franchise, he is far behind from getting the title of the strongest one. In fact, he is nowhere near compared to Goku and Vegeta. But, this new Orange form brings him at par with the series’ two main characters, which is also confirmed by the writer Akira Toriyama himself. He further says that this is the first time Piccolo has got a proper transformation.

Piccolo’s most powerful form makes him far more powerful than Gamma 2, as he knocks down the latter in a single blow. While on one side, he was barely able to fight Cell Max before the transformation, he was able to match his level for some time after turning into Orange Piccolo. But eventually, Cell Max was able to overpower him. That’s what motivates Gohan to unleash his Beast form, and finally, Piccolo pushes Cell Max to a tight spot, and Gohan lands a final attack to defeat the Android. So, while Orange Piccolo is a powerful form, it isn’t strong enough to take Cell Max on its own.
