Volatus Aerospace Advances Drone Flight Beyond Visual Line of Sight Across Canada

Published

on

TORONTO, June 16, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Volatus announced today that it has been granted a Special Flight Operating Certificate (SFOC) from Transport Canada to conduct remotely piloted aerial operations across the country, beyond the visual line of sight (BVLOS) of the pilot. Volatus will conduct a variety of missions across Canada to demonstrate the power of remotely piloted aircraft systems. BVLOS operations provide for maximum efficiency allowing survey, imaging, and mapping missions to collect more data in fewer deployments by enabling a drone to cover far greater distances than missions restricted to visual line of sight.

Commenting on this advanced program, Glen Lynch, CEO said “Volatus is committed to advancing BVLOS operations across Canada. We have developed an extensive training program for pilots and procedures for autonomous drone operations. Beginning this month, our team will begin regular flight training missions in all regions in Canada on an ongoing basis – partnering with organizations that want to lead the way into this new frontier”.

Flying a drone BVLOS is the next major step in enabling a robust commercial ecosystem for disruptive drone technologies. Indeed, the world is anxiously awaiting the day a drone delivers its Amazon box or pizza, but flight beyond visual line of sight is much more than that.

Drones are enhancing our everyday lives in countless ways by reducing human risk in hazardous situations, enhancing the collection of data in an environmentally and cost-effective manner; performing search & rescue activity; conducting security and surveillance operations, and providing highly accurate and timely actionable intelligence to manage our buildings, infrastructure, environment, and wildlife.

Flights under these conditions will allow commercial service providers to conduct complex, autonomous drone operations in areas generally difficult and expensive to access or dangerous, without risk to human life.

In addition to the much-anticipated drone delivery service; future BVLOS operations will be an essential requirement for remotely piloted passenger and cargo aircraft. The paradigm shift that this represents requires the development of an entirely new infrastructure to support its commercial feasibility.

About Volatus Aerospace: Volatus Aerospace is a leading provider of integrated drone solutions.  Operating a vast pilot network with offices throughout Canada, the United States, and South America; Volatus provides enterprise and industrial solutions including training; equipment sales & support; imaging & inspection services; design & manufacture; and research & development. Kratos Named One of the First Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Third Party Assessment Organizations (C3PAO)

Published

on

SAN DIEGO, June 15, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq: KTOS), a leading National Security Solutions provider, announced today that it has been named by the federal government as one of the first two CMMC Third Party Assessment Organizations (C3PAO). As a C3PAO, Kratos will be able to conduct CMMC Level 1-3 assessments once the government completes certain preparatory and authorization steps.

The CMMC is a new unified security standard and a certification process developed by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to protect the security of Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) within the Defense Industrial Base (DIB). In accordance with recent updates to DFARS 252.204, the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (OUSD) will begin a phased rollout requiring contractors to achieve CMMC certification. Once the rollout is complete, nearly all companies seeking to respond to DoD proposal requests will require CMMC certification.

Kratos has years of robust experience in compliance and certification, risk management and cyber operations, defense and engineering. Services include vulnerability assessments, enterprise security architecture design, application security testing and risk management processes. Kratos cybersecurity services support the development and operation of proactive cybersecurity programs, the development of enterprise cloud security strategies, and the establishment of sound and practical information security architectures tailored to organizational needs.

Mark Williams, Vice President, Kratos Cybersecurity Services explained: “As a member of the DIB Kratos underwent a rigorous assessment by the Defense Industrial Base Cybersecurity Assessment Center, which was a key factor in its early C3PAO authorization by the CMMC AB.” Once authorized to begin conducting assessments. Kratos’ Provisional Assessor-led teams will conduct the CMMC assessments that consist of up to four phases. The Planning phase includes assessment plan development and an assessment readiness review. The Assessment phase includes collecting and validating the required Objective Evidence (OE) and generating final results. Presentation of the results occurs in the Report Findings phase. If issues are identified in the Report Findings phase, the Remediation phase is dedicated to evaluating remedial actions taken. Depending on the assessment complexity Kratos estimates that most assessments will be completed in four to six weeks.

Phil Carrai, President of Kratos Space, Training and Cyber Division highlighted the importance of a robust CMMC program. “The recent spate of data breaches affecting both government and commercial organizations underscores the need for more robust security measures to protect critical information. For DoD this means increased protection of FCI and CUI data. CMMC will be a critical component of heightened security as all companies will need to pass strict CMMC security assessments before being awarded DoD contracts. Kratos is proud to be named one of the first C3PAOs. Our extensive experience in providing advisory and assessment services for compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP and others position us well to support CMMC.”

Half-yearly revenue and limited growth for the year 2021

Published

on

La Motte-Fanjas, June 15, 2021 – 05:45 pm CEST – McPhy (Euronext Paris Compartment C: MCPHY, FR0011742329), specialized in zero-carbon hydrogen production and distribution equipment (electrolyzers and refueling stations), today announces that revenue for the first half of 2021 is expected to be above €5.0 million compared to €5.4 million during the same period last year.

As announced in the Group’s last communication on May 21, and despite a market that remains very buoyant, McPhy observes delays in the execution of its projects, as well as in the taking of firm orders, which are slow to materialize due to the global health context, the related restrictions, and the wait-and-see attitude of certain economic players dependent on public financing mechanisms.

As a result, revenue growth for the full year 2021 could be limited.

Despite this outlook for 2021, the Group intends to pursue the deployment of its business model based on the continuous improvement of its green hydrogen technology, which can only be considered over long cycles. The Group reiterates its confidence in the medium and long-term growth prospects of its markets and remains focused on the industrialization of its production capacities and the acceleration of its technological developments in zero-carbon hydrogen.

Upcoming of financial communication events

  • Annual General Meeting, June 17, 2021
  • Publication of half-yearly results on July 27, 2021, after market closing
