Dance Collider Steps Onto PlayStation VR Next Week

Date:

Australian indie team emergeWorlds released its debut virtual reality (VR) title Dance Collider back in 2018 for Oculus Rift, expanding support to SteamVR headsets the following year. Soon it’ll be the turn of PlayStation VR owners to test their dancing skills as the title is due to step onto the PlayStation Store next week.

Dance Collider

The VR rhythm-action genre has exploded in recent years from saber swing behemoth Beat Saber to plucky rivals like Synth Riders. With Dance Collider PlayStation VR owners will soon have another way to burn a few calories in VR, the one main difference being you actually face off against AI characters.

Dance Collider features 8 characters from Russia, Japan, Brazil, USA, France, China and England who need to be beaten before the final big bad boss Uriel. Just like the PC VR edition, the title includes 45 songs from electronic music wizard F-777.

All the tracks have been designed to really make your body move whilst being able to see your opponent’s motion-captured dances during every song. To ensure all skill levels are catered for Dance Collider offers easy, normal and pro difficulties plus there are local and global leaderboards to add a real-world competitive element with both friends at home and around the world.

Dance Collider

Dance Collider is scheduled to launch for PlayStation VR on 9th July 2020 for those looking for a new rhythm experience to delve into.

There’s more on the way as PlayStation VR owners also have Cloudhead Games’ Pistol Whip to look forward to later this month. As more titles for the headset are announced, VRFocus will keep you updated.
