CSGO: The Popular Dust 2 Callouts

Date:

There is no arguing that Dust 2 is the most popular map in CSGO. Some people are fans of other things, but Dust 2 remains the go-to option for casual and pro players.

The map is pretty simple to understand and doesn’t require you to have a lot of experience to learn how to play. Yet, there are several popular callouts you must be aware of, especially if you decide to start grinding your desired rank.

Some of you probably already know some of the things you are about to see. However, others want to learn more, so let’s go through everything. Don’t forget that Dust 2 has been around for many years, and some of the things in CSGO remain the same.

What is a Callout?

The term Callout in CSGO is used when a player wants to describe certain areas on the map. The idea behind those things is to give specific locations “nicknames” so that teammates know what happens. Needless to say, it is much faster than sharing detailed information about a particular spot.

Every map has at least a couple of callouts, some of which are way more popular than others. What’s more, the callouts can be different in your own language, so the things you are about to see in this article might not be the same. That’s one of the big reasons why some of the best CSGO teams in the world are from the same nationality.

Long

One of the first things you will learn about Dust 2 in CSGO is called “long”. As its name suggests, this is the long path that leads to the A site. The Ts can go there by going right from their spawn point, whereas the CTs need to go left.

Long is often an arena of battles because it offers direct access to the site. The team that controls this part of the map has a huge advantage, so keep that in mind.

Short

After covering Long, it is time to go through “short”. The latter is the narrow path that also leads to A and is parallel to Long. Usually, the Ts use it to attack the A-site (most teams often use the so-called 3/2 tactic that allows them to send 3 players to short and 2 to long or vice-versa).

One of the important things about Short that you should know is that it allows the Ts to make a move to the other site potentially. They can do that by jumping down and using the tunnels. Speaking of the devil, this is the next thing we’d like to share.

Upper/Lower/Outside Tunnel

The tunnels in Dust 2 are important because they allow the Ts to go from B to A in no time. Needless to say, the CTs usually try to control this part of the map, but this is easier said than done. While it is true that they could potentially prevent the lower tunnel, this does not apply to Upper and Outside tunnels.

As you can probably guess, it is important to distinguish between them because it can make a huge difference.

Xbox

Most people who hear the word Xbox associate it with the gaming console. However, when it comes down to CSGO, this is the big box in front or behind the double door (depending on your position).

One of the differences between the Xbox in CSGO and the one in the previous versions of the game is that you can go on top of it without the need for a boost. This is very important because it allows players to rush the A site.

Car

One of the main differences between Dust 2 in CS 1.6 and the same map in CSGO is the addition of a car. The latter is positioned in front of long and allows the Ts to hide there and wait for a pushing CT. Even though players rarely stay there for long, it is something that you should be aware of, especially if you decide to push.

B and A bombsites

Like any other game, Dust 2 has two bombsites – A and B. They allow the Ts to plant the bomb and win the round.

The A site is located on the right from T spawn, which means players can reach it via long or short. On the other hand, the B bombsite can be accessed via tunnels or the middle double door.

Goose

This is probably one of the most exciting callouts on Dust 2, especially for someone who hasn’t played that much. Some people call it otherwise, but Goose is located behind the A-site. This is where your CTs stay because it allows them to keep an eye on Long and Short.

On of the best ways of dealing with players who stay there is to throw a Molotov. This will force the CTs out, allowing you to secure an easy kill.

Ninja

Speaking of exciting positions, Ninia is also located near the A-site. It is called this for a reason – CTs who stay there often have the chance to defuse the bomb without anyone seeing them.

Like Goose, players who decide to force the enemies out of it have to throw a Molotov.

Suicide

Despite its strange name, Suicide is an interesting position that is usually only used by Ts. This is located just below the T spawn, meaning players go there when they have an AWP and try to get a kill through the double doors.

Needless to say, securing kills is easier said than done, which is why the callout is called suicide.
