Competitive VR Archery Game Nock Gets Official Release Date

Date:

Will you dominate the playing field or quiver before the opposing team?

Originally announced last January, Nock is an upcoming multiplayer VR sports game in which two teams composed of three players go head-to-head using hyper-colored bows and arrows. But here’s the catch: instead of shooting each other, players use the weapon to knock, or should I say “nock,” a large ball into the opposing team’s net.

Think of it like the popular game Rocket League, only without the rocket-powered vehicles and available in VR.

Earlier today, developer Normal (Half+Half) announced that Nock will be available on the Meta Quest 2 next week, March 10th, via the Quest Store. The store page is now live so do yourself a favor and hit that “Add to wishlist” button.

You’ll have the ability to go head-to-head with bots as well as human players in ranked matches or custom casual games. The game also features built-in voice chat, allowing you to coordinate with teammates while in the heat of “battle.”

According to Normal, “Nock is the first real multiplayer sport for VR.” The game promises a variety of unique arrow abilities enhanced by realistic physics. Block arrows, for instance, allow you to instantly construct large barriers that prevent the opposing team from pushing the ball up-field. Similar to demolishing cars in Rocket League, a fast-moving ball is capable of taking out a player, so you’ll want to keep your head on a swivel.

Nock launches on Meta Quest 2 headsets on March 10th. No word yet on pricing. For more information visit here. There’s also an official subreddit you can check out if you’d like to learn more or find teammates.
