W3techs.com studies the top 10 million websites globally each month, examining the digital certificate landscape. From that research, w3techs.com determines market share for leading companies and publicizes the data.
SSL certificates, which authenticate the identity of a website and encrypt information sent back and forth over the server, are managed and issued by companies serving as Certificate Authorities. As such, Comodo continues to be the world leader in the field.
