College Football Playoff Bracketology November 27

Date:

Each week teams will be fighting for position in an effort to make the College Football Playoff. The teams will be ranked each week, but what matters most is who they have played and beaten already on the field. Preseason rankings will not be taken into consideration here. Here is College Football Playoff Bracketology November 27.

CFP Four

1. Georgia Bulldogs (12-0)

Georgia finished off their undefeated season with a win over Georgia Tech. Their win and a bunch of other results means they probably don’t even have to win the SEC Championship to get a bid to the College Football Playoff.

This Week: vs. LSU Tigers (10-2) (Game in Atlanta, Georgia)

2. Michigan Wolverines (12-0)

Michigan proved to be a more physical and better football team than Ohio State and now is heading to the Big Ten Championship Game. They are also in a position where they may be able to lose and still make the CFP, much like Georgia.

This week: vs. Purdue Boilermakers (8-4) (Game in Indianapolis, Indiana)

3. TCU Horned Frogs (12-0)

TCU had no problems with Iowa State in the last week of the regular season. They may be in the CFP even with a loss in the conference championship game, but the good news is if they win they are in the CFP.

This week: vs. Kansas State Wildcats (9-3) (Game in Arlington, Texas)

4. USC Trojans (11-1)

The Trojans finished off their second straight big game with a win over Notre Dame. This, along with some other results, should help USC move into the top four of the CFP. If they win the Pac-12 Championship Game, they will be in, but with a loss they are out.

This week:

First Four Out

5. Ohio State Buckeyes (11-1)

Ohio State played Michigan close for the first half and some of the second, but then things went awry. They would’ve likely stayed in the top four, but the margin of defeat will leave a bad impression on the committee. If USC loses, they are the most likely team to make the CFP.

This week: N/A

6. Alabama Crimson Tide (10-2)

The Crimson Tide had no issue defeating Auburn in the Iron Bowl. They have two losses by a total of four points, but no two-loss team has ever made the playoff. They also will only have maybe two wins against teams ranked by the committee when Tuesday’s rankings are released, which should leave them behind Ohio State.

This week: N/A

7. Tennessee Volunteers (10-2)

Tennessee got a win over Vanderbilt and move up the rankings with other teams losing. The win will solidify their spot in a New Year’s Six Game.

This week: N/A

8. Penn State Nittany Lions (10-2)

With only two losses, which came to Ohio State and Michigan, Penn State has set themselves up to make a New Year’s Six Bowl Game.

This week: N/A

Next Four Out

9. Kansas State Wildcats (9-3)

Kansas State locked up their spot in the Big 12 Championship with a win over Kansas. They are still in play for a New Year’s Six Bowl Game.

This week: vs. TCU Horned Frogs (12-0) (Game in Arlington, Texas)

10. Washington Huskies (10-2)

The Huskies defeated Washington State to keep their hopes for a Rose Bowl alive. They will not be in the Pac-12 Championship Game though, so they’ll have to wait.

This week: N/A

11. Clemson Tigers (10-2)

Clemson lost a tough one to South Carolina after not getting their offense running well. The second loss of the season, knocks them out of the CFP talk, but they are still in line to win the ACC this week.

This week: vs. North Carolina Tar Heels (9-3) (Game in Charlotte, North Carolina)

12. Oregon Ducks (9-3)

Oregon was upset by Oregon State in the last game of the regular season. The game cost the Ducks a shot at the Pac-12 Championship Game and now they could miss out on New Year’s Six Bowl opportunities.

This week: N/A
