Cloud9’s Blaber wins a second LCS Spring Split MVP title

Date:

The LCS has announced Robert “Blaber” Huang as the Honda Most Valuable Player of the 2021 LCS Spring Split. The jungler’s impressive performance throughout the Split earned his team a first-place finish in the regular season. Blaber edged out Team Liquid’s Barney “Alphari” Morris to win his second Spring Split MVP. He also saw off nine other players that were nominated for the award.

Blaber’s dominance in 2021 LCS Spring Split.

The young North American jungler has been an integral part of Cloud9 this Split. Most of C9’s wins occurred alongside Blaber’s impact in the game. The aggressive jungle meta perfectly suits him well. Also, C9 being a proactive team on the rift has helped Blaber to continuously outsmart other junglers and their teams.

Moreover, Blaber has the best KDA of all junglers for the regular season. His 68 kills and 137 assists are the best for any LCS jungler. He also leads in most statistics like damage per minute, damage share and creep score difference at 10 minutes amongst junglers. Blaber played 9 unique champions during the Spring Split with Lillia and Taliyah being his favorite picks. He only lost one match each on these two champions and never lost on Rek’Sai. All of this likely contributed to Blaber’s selection as the 2021 LCS Spring Split MVP.

An LCS Legend in the making?

Since becoming the starting jungler for C9 in 2020, Blaber has shown that he is worthy of that spot. His improvement over the years has been rapid and very impressive.  With this MVP win, Blaber is now the first jungler to win the LCS MVP award more than once.

Asides from this, Blaber continues to easily adapt to the ever-changing meta of League. At just 21 years of age, he shows no signs of slowing down. While he still has a long way to go to be compared with the likes of Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng, there is no doubt that Blaber is a legend in the making.

Blaber will take to the stage for the last time in 2021 Spring at the LCS Mid-Season Showdown finals for a chance to represent NA at MSI. The Mid-Season Showdown finals take place on Sunday, April 11 at 4 p.m. ET.
