The Italian Giovanni Farinella has filed a patent for Clou Box, a portable and very discreet dispenser used to collect and recycle used condoms
It is useless to deny it. It has happened to many of us to be in the “uncomfortable position” of not knowing where to throw a used condom. The problem is not only the embarrassment of the moment but also the repercussions on nature. If they are not disposed of properly, condoms are in fact very harmful to the environment because the latex of which they are composed is not biodegradable. The problem, however, is not insurmountable. It is enough to have a little common sense and throw the used condoms in the waste containers rather than in the street. To make this operation easier, the young Sicilian inventor Giovanni Farinella has created a very special patent. The project is called Clou Box (Clean Up After Clou!) and is a sort of very small and practical sachet dispenser. The device can be inserted inside the packaging of condoms without increasing the external dimensions or affecting the content inside.

Clou Box: the patent to recycle used condoms
Once “completed the use”, the user can insert the used condom inside one of the Clou Box airtight sachets. In this way, it is possible to store the condom in a hygienic way and then throw it in the bin of differentiated waste. Clou Box is a green, pocket-sized and very practical solution. Farinella’s project has already obtained the certificate of Patent for Industrial Invention. The young Sicilian hopes that his invention can be “adopted” by manufacturers and included in all condom packages. But that’s not all: the Clou Box can be made in various sizes and become a pocket-sized container to carry with you to store all the small waste (cigarette butts, receipts, used tissues, chewing gum) that sometimes we do not know where to throw. Some companies have already started feasibility studies of the product and soon Clou Box could become a start-up!
