CenterOak brings in Langer to continue dealmaking momentum in wake of last year’s Fund II close

Date:

Dallas-based buyout house CenterOak Partners has brought in former Heartwood Partners senior exec Mark Langer as a managing director.

Langer has twenty years of middle market transaction experience across his time as a managing director at private equity house Heartwood, investment professional at Compass Group and investment banker at Green Manning & Bunch.

CenterOak CEO Randall Fojtasek said, “Mark is a seasoned and accomplished investment professional who has a strong track record and a long history of thematic investing and value creation that align seamlessly with CenterOak’s investment strategy.

“Importantly, he has extensive investment and operating expertise in CenterOak’s three core investment sectors, industrial growth, consumer, and business services.”

Early last year CenterOak struck a $690m hard cap close for its second fund following strong performance from its debut vehicle.

Jason Sutherland, co-managing partner of CenterOak, said, “CenterOak has been very active during the past 16 months following the final closing of Fund II’s over-subscribed fundraise, and we are excited to bring Mark on board to continue that trajectory.

“Since Fund II’s final closing in April 2021, CenterOak has completed three new platforms and more than 40 add-on acquisitions, exited two portfolio companies, and expanded our investment team with several talented hires.”

The firm currently manages more than $1.1bn in equity across its two funds, and has completed over 100 deals.
