The first auction Saturday after a federal election is always a litmus test for the property market.

It is also auction day for the most prestigious listing so far for the new real estate firm, Pello.

No. 1 The Tor Walk, Castlecrag, is a renovated waterfront on Middle Harbour with wide water views, an $11m guide and a date with an auctioneer at 3pm this Saturday.

Tim Foote, of Pello Lower North Shore, said the 1040sq m block was in one of the most tightly held pockets on Middle Harbour and the street-to-waterfront house was designed for maximum privacy and views.

Interestingly, this was one of the blocks acquired by the NSW government decades ago for a proposed Middle Harbour bridge between Castlecrag and Seaforth on the opposite headland to better connect the northern beaches to the rest of Sydney.

The bridge concept was dropped in the 1970s and the NSW government sold the land for $1.55m in 2000 before embarking on a northern beaches tunnel proposal.
