PROTEUS 420 is a real-time enterprise resource planning (ERP), seed-to-sale tracking, and point-of-sale system for cannabis and hemp businesses across the supply chain. The company took its legacy system and launched it in the cannabis and hemp industries in 2008. Today, it’s a leading cannabis and hemp industry ERP and POS system known for its high level of customization and performance.
Cannabiz Media spoke with Dawne Morris, Founder and Chief Marketing Office of PROTEUS 420, to learn more about her company, its software and services, and how the team at PROTEUS 420 uses the Cannabiz Media License Database to support its marketing and strategic growth plans.
Why Does PROTEUS 420 Subscribe to the Cannabiz Media License Database?
PROTEUS 420 subscribes to the Cannabiz Media License Database to support its lead generation and sales initiatives as well as for data and trend analysis that affect the company’s platform and service development plans.
“Cannabiz Media has been a plus for us as far as communication and marketing,” says Dawne. “One of the ways that I personally love using it is that I can actually get to the main decision maker. What we’ve been able to do is get our footprint and our name and our process of what we do in front of the main decision makers, and that’s been something that has been very, very helpful for us over the years.”
In addition, the reputation and professionalism of Cannabiz Media and the Cannabiz Media License Database play an important role for PROTEUS 420.
Dawn explains, “One of the things that I think is really important and what has helped us is being able to look at the information and not only put our best business practices into play, but also, being allowed to say, ‘Okay, Cannabiz Media has best businesses practices, and now, we have our best business practices.’ We merge them together, and it allows us to have a stronger footprint in the industry where people say, ‘Yeah, that’s where we saw them and this is where we’re ending up, and now, we’re super happy.’”
PROTEUS 420 also uses the Cannabiz Media License Database for data and trend analysis. “One of the ways that we’ve utilized Cannabiz Media is from a licensing perspective – being updated on any change in license information. We’ve been with Cannabiz Media for many years now, pretty much since it started, so we’ve grown with Cannabiz Media as more information has been added to the License Database and we’ve marketed through the system. That’s been a huge, huge plus for us.
“Not only are people able to see us on the state reporting side as a validated software, but they’re also now seeing us from the beginning. From the moment that their licenses are put into place and we see in the Cannabiz Media License Database that their license is pending – all the way up to them becoming an active license holder – we’re able to stay in communication with them.”
As a long-time subscriber, Dawne has a variety of tips and insights to help others leverage the Cannabiz Media License Database for business growth. “One of the things that’s great is just being able to organize how you’re going to communicate with people. Obviously, there is a lot of information in the Cannabiz Media platform. For example, you can break it down between hemp, CBD, and cannabis license holders and organize those lists in a way that makes sense to you.
“Then, when you’re going through those lists, you can communicate out through email campaigns and see who opts in, who opts out, and who follows the link to more information from the email. There’s a lot of information that you can get from there, but when you go back to your organized lists, being able to follow that flow is a big part for me.
“Make sure you’re organizing how you want to communicate with people, and then from there, everything else just kind of falls into place.”
What’s Next for PROTEUS 420?
Dawne’s team at PROTEUS 420 is already actively developing for the future. “We try to work in a five to 10 year visual. When we’re looking at what our system is doing now, we don’t want to just think about what trends are going to be happening in the next year. We want to look at what they’re going to be doing in the next five to 10 years so we can pre-plan out for a lot of that.
“Some of the new product launches that we have are going to be taking things a little bit further out in the next five to 10 years in our operations platform – so clients will be able to rely on the system not just as a seed-to-sale or track-and-trace but also being able to look at it as, ‘Wow, this whole system runs our entire business operations from budget forecasting to being able to see what total ROI is on product.’ Those are some of the things we’re building right now.”
