Trainers want to know if Baltoy’s evolved form, Claydol, can be shiny ahead of its Spotlight Hour feature this Tuesday.
Baltoy has been chosen as this week’s Spotlight Hour Pokemon for Tuesday, Sept. 14. From 6 p.m to 7 p.m., local time, this Pokemon will spawn at an increased rate with a chance to be shiny. Does this mean Claydol can also be shiny in Pokemon GO?

Yes, Claydol can be shiny in Pokemon GO. As long as the Baltoy it evolves from is shiny, it, too, will be shiny. Additionally, trainers can encounter a shiny Claydol in the wild, but it’s much rarer than its pre-evolved form.
Shiny Claydol only has one distinct difference when compared to its normal color palette—its eyes. The typical Claydol has red eyes. Its shiny variant, however, has yellow eyes. Otherwise, its black body and white accents remain the same.
Claydol is a ground and psychic-type. It has the following stats:
Its best moveset contains the quick move Confusion and charged moves Psychic and Earth Power.
Despite its low CP threshold when compared to other Pokemon of its typing, Claydol does have an impressive defense stat. Unfortunately, it’s still outclassed by other options in the GO Battle League and in Gym conquests.
Claydol is a Hoenn region native and part of Generation III with a Pokedex number of 344. Also known as the “Clay Doll” Pokemon, Claydol is said to be a primitive, human-made doll brought to life by a “mysterious ray.” Unlike its pre-evolved form, Baltoy, Claydol moves about via levitation.
