Bugs on Irelia, Kha’Zix, and Riven fixed in 2.3 hotfix on Wild Rift

Published

on

A new hotfix for Wild Rift was released earlier today,

Similarly to most hotfixes, its goal is to fix some bugs that were caused by the last update as quickly as possible, Riot Games announced on Twitter.

Here are all the changes of the 2.3 hotfix:

Irelia

  • Flawless Duet: A bug where Irelia could use the ability again faster than intended has been fixed

Kha’Zix

  • Taste Their Fear: A bug where Kha’Zix could receive self-damage when he upgraded the ability after evolving it has been fixed

Riven

  • Broken Wings: A bug where Riven could use the ability more times than intended when used with Flash and Protobelt has been fixed

Miscellaneous

  • A bug where the Surrender option wouldn’t disappear after all votes had been submitted has been fixed
  • A bug where too many bots were introduced into Co-op vs. IA matches has been fixed

Patch 2.3 introduced the Broken Blades event, which celebrated the introduction of Irelia and Riven. The players were able to select one of both new champions to unlock as a reward for completing exclusive-event challenges.

Nine missions must be completed to unlock the selected champion, and both are available in the game’s shop. The players still have one week to complete them, since the event will end on June 16.

On top of this event, the players can enter ARAM matches for its second round of testing and complete daily and weekly challenges to gain more XP.

How to bunny hop in VALORANT

Published

on

If you’ve played Counter-Strike, you’ve dabbled in Quake, or you’ve tried Apex Legends out for size, you should be at home with bunny hopping.

Bunny hopping is all about gaining velocity and using air-strafing to travel from one location to another. Some games actively discourage it, like Call of Duty. But others, namely Counter-Strike, embrace it.

If VALORANT had to be compared to another first-person shooter, it would be Counter-Strike. The game has elements of Overwatch and Apex with its character-based action, but when it comes to gameplay and mechanics, it screams Counter-Strike.

In the Counter-Strike 1.6 and Source days, you could bunny hop from one side of the map to the other and catch your opponents off guard. It’s not exactly the same in VALORANT, and the distance you can cover is nowhere near as impressive, but bunny hopping is still entirely possible.

How exactly do you bunny hop?

Practice makes perfect when it comes to learning the art of bunny hopping.

You first need to get the hang of air-strafing if you want to hone your bunny hopping skills. This is just simply jumping (or falling) and moving your mouse in a direction while pressing the corresponding strafe key—A for left, D for right. This should give you a small amount of velocity.

Once you’ve got air-strafing down, you can start practicing your bunny hops. Bunny hopping is combining a left (A) air strafe with a right (D) air strafe in quick succession.

To do this, jump and press A while simultaneously pointing your mouse to the left of your mouse pad. Then, jump, press D, and move your mouse to the right side of your mouse pad. You then rinse and repeat, jumping from left to right and building up speed. You can also use W to bunny hop, combined with either A or D.

When bunny hopping, you should consider saying goodbye to your space bar and binding jump to your scroll wheel. It’s much easier to sequence your bunny hops and time them correctly when you’re scrolling. Scrolling up and down are both acceptable but down is generally the way to go. If you’re a Jett main, because of the nature of Glide, it’s best to stick with the space bar, though.

You can also bunny hop silently by jumping and immediately holding the shift key before strafing left or right. This can come in handy in a clutch situation.

What’s the point of bunny hopping in VALORANT?

The momentum you gain from bunny hopping on the spot is barely worth mentioning in VALORANT. But in certain scenarios, it can be worth taking into consideration.

If you want to move around the map as fast as possible and get to a spike site before your enemy, you should avoid bunny hopping altogether. It might even slow you down if you make a sloppy mistake.

If you want to brute force your way through a Brimstone Incendiary, a Phoenix Hot Hands, or a Viper Snakebite, though, bunny hopping could save you a few extra seconds. When performed correctly, you should even avoid taking damage.

If you find yourself in a sticky situation and you’re forced to reload in the middle of a gunfight, bunny hopping from side to side could also save your life. There’s nothing wrong with confusing your enemy and throwing their crosshair off-kilter.

Which agent is the best for bunny hopping?

Raze gains the most out of bunny hopping. Bouncing off of Raze’s Blast Pack and immediately bunny hopping when you hit the ground will give you a quick burst of momentum. You can then add a second Blast Pack to the mix and shoot across the map. The same also goes for her ultimate ability.

The possibilities are endless when it comes to Raze. When playing her in a game of ranked, bunny hopping should go hand in hand.

The same momentum can also be gained on agents like Jett. After dashing or falling, she can quickly bunny hop for some extra speed.

Ludwig banned from YouTube after video gets flagged for ‘child safety’

Published

on

One of Twitch’s most popular streamers, Ludwig, has been banned on YouTube for a week after one of his videos was flagged for “child safety.”

The shock suspension means the streamer won’t be able to upload for a week, bringing an almost two-year streak of uploads to an end, according to the streamer whose channel boasts 1.7 million subscribers.

Ludwig received the news while on stream. Despite him and his chat attempting to brainstorm what exactly caused the ban, all that is known right now is that it stemmed from his most recent “You laugh, you lose” upload.

There were two portions of the video that viewers pointed out suggesting that they were potentially the reason for this suspension, but Ludwig was quick to dismiss these ideas.

The first was a video of a monkey throwing its feces at a child, but as Ludwig points out, the clip was from YouTube and still remains live with a much higher view count than his own video. The other theory suggests that the ban came from a clip where the streamer spoke about child labor, but the streamer was not convinced that the ban could have stemmed from the clip.

“There’s no way that’s it, there’s no universe that that is it,” Ludwig said. “Unless it got spam reported by people trying to fuck with me as a meme, there’s no universe that that got flagged.”

Right now, it seems that Ludwig will need to wait for a response from YouTube to find out exactly what he has been suspended for.

Update June 15 2:26am CT: YouTube has responded to Ludwig’s tweet and will have a team member review the video once again.

How to watch Hearthstone Masters Tour: Dalaran

Published

on

The Hearthstone Master Tour is back this weekend with Dalaran as the next destination.

More than 400 invited players from over 40 countries will be competing for the Masters Tour trophy, a chance to become a Hearthstone Grandmaster, and a share of the $250,000 prize pool. Players with at least seven wins will also earn points towards the Road to Grandmasters and their shot to earn an invite to Grandmasters 2021 Season Two, which begins later this summer. If you watch the YouTube stream during the weekend, you can earn various drops, which are packs from different expansions.

Tournament format

The game format will be a best-of-five Conquest with a ban. Every player is allowed four decks. This will force players to adapt against each opponent and carefully think about each deck ban.

The first day will feature five rounds of Swiss pairings. Those that win three or more matches will continue into the second day, where they will have to play four more rounds of Swiss. After this, there will be a top 16 single-elimination round, from which only eight players will emerge the following day.

The final day will feature the top eight players from day two who advanced to a single-elimination bracket. The winner will be decided based on this bracket. Every win will matter since it can be the difference between advancing to the next round or being knocked out of tournament contention.

Where and when to watch

The matches will be held entirely online from June 18 to June 20. The broadcast will start every day at 8am CT, featuring casters TJ “Azumoqt” Sanders, Darroch Brown, Jia Dee, Neil “Lorinda” Bond, and Dan “Frodan” Chou. Multiple languages will be available on the YouTube streams, including English, Mandarin, Korean, and Japanese.

You can tune in on the official Hearthstone Esports channel and browse for the stream which is to your taste starting on Friday. You can earn up to two Year of the Phoenix card packs this weekend as you watch Masters Tour: Dalaran. On any of the above YouTube channels, watch two total hours to receive one pack and two more hours for your second. Time watched is cumulative throughout the weekend, so even if you can’t watch for the full four hours in one sitting, your time will still count toward earning the drops.

Before tuning into the stream, make sure to connect your Battle.net account with YouTube to be able to receive drops. To do so, go to “Account Sharing” on YouTube and navigate to “Connected Apps,” from where you can choose the Battle.net client.

Guilty Gear Strive ships 300,000 units 3 days after launch

Published

on

ArcSystemWorks have hit a hot streak with Guilty Gear Strive, announcing that the game has surpassed 300,000 units sold just three days after officially hitting the global gaming market.

This is incredibly positive news for ArcSys and, more importantly, the Guilty Gear franchise, because it shows that the game has broken through the niche fighting game label and reached a much larger audience with its latest release.

Sales figures for the franchise are scarce, but according to game tracking website VGChartz, some of the newer titles like Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 have only sold around 100,000 units lifetime on PlayStation 4. This doesn’t include PC sales, which could bump that number up for certain titles like GGXrd and GG XX Accent Core Plus R, which have both seen more recent improvements.

GGST was originally supposed to launch April 9, but after a delay it was released worldwide on June 11, with players who pre-ordered deluxe editions of the game digitally getting early access to the full game on June 8.

The initial response from the GG and general fighting game community has been very positive, with most complaints still being pinned on the game’s multiplayer lobby system or server errors. If the game continues to draw people in with its fun gameplay and strong netcode, ArcSys might be able to take build the franchise up to rival many of the bigger names in the scene with its seventh mainline installment.
