Breuninger expands to 5 countries

Date:

German fashion and lifestyle retailer Breuninger is expanding again. Customers in the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium, Spain and Italy can now orders goods and have them delivered by post. The retailer is now active in nine markets in total.

The Stuttgart-based company expanded to Switzerland in 2019. After that, it was active in the whole DACH region and Poland. Across Germany, it has several brick-and-mortar stores. Internationally, it operates online. The average delivery time across all countries is 7 working days, unless otherwise agreed.

Answer to increasing demand

In a LinkedIn post, the company’s CEO Holger Blecker announced the expansion. “The expansion of our business into five other European countries is the result of our consistently pursued growth strategy and the answer to the increasing demand from international markets.”

Adaptation of online shop not complete

Customers in Poland can shop on a dedicated Polish landing page. Swiss customers also have a Swiss website, where they can see product prices in Swiss francs. But Italian and Spanish users are automatically redirected to the English version of Breuninger. It seems that the adaptation of the online shop to the new countries is not complete yet.

‘Deliveries to overseas territories of the 5 new markets are excluded.’

Additionally, not all regions of the new countries can included for delivery. Deliveries to overseas territories such as Aruba, small Italian states as San Marino and the Spanish exclaves in Africa are excluded for now. Deliveries to the Canary Islands and Vatican City are not possible either.
