Brazilian Cable TV Provider to Broadcast The Convergence Invitational CS:GO Tournament

Date:

The Convergence Invitational, a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) tournament organized by the esports development company Gaming Culture, will be broadcast on Brazilian TV through a special channel from cable provider Claro.

Claro, a telecommunications company with multiple services as mobile and broadband internet, is sponsoring the competition and will also stream it through its app NOW, available for its users. In this tournament, the company will be promoting its platform Claro Gaming.

The CEO of Gaming Culture Peterson Rodrigues told TEO that “this partnership is important because it increases the reach of the Brazilian CS:GO scenario, bringing contact with the electronic sport to another audience, through a product that is the Convergence Invitational, a mixed tournament. This action reinforces the content of the brands to deliver value to the gamer audience.”

As Peterson highlighted, the tournament is mixed, featuring esports organizations from Brazil and Argentina playing in men’s and women’s competitions. On the men’s side, there will be the Brazilians Santos HotForex, INTZ, and Sport Recife, along with the Argentinean River Plate, while the women’s competition will feature the Brazilians Black Dragons, FURIA, and Soberano Team, with 9z Team representing Argentina.

The winner from the men’s side will face the winner from the women’s side in the finals, scheduled for Sept. 7 at 1 p.m. EST. The other sponsors of the tournament are sound systems manufacturer JBL, Outback Steakhouse, education franchise Microcamp, and esports souvenirs store WayUp.
