BLAST Bounty Hunt was a success for Team Secret as they once again shutout their opponents in the grand finals for another crown and title.

Team Secret‘s fifth consecutive 3:0 shutout win in just mere months is about surprising as President Donald Trump tweeting in a day. Pretty soon the end-of-event news will be just put on copy/paste/publish at this rate.

The European titans aren’t just dominating, they are absolutely shellacking their opponents —and no one can stop them. Even though BLAST Bounty Hunt format was anything but traditional, it still was a cakewalk for Team Secret. Although some might try to excuse OG‘s loss on their internal struggles at the moment — midone and sumail’s ping, internet issues, lack of practice time together as a team — OG still did manage to get into the grand finals and sweep through both Alliance and Team Nigma in the playoff brackets.

As of now, Team Secret’s track record for 3:0 title wins are:

  • WePlay! Pushka League S1: Division 1
  • Gamers Without Borders 2020
  • OGA Dota PIT 2020 Online: Europe/CIS
  • ESL One Birmingham 2020 – Online: Europe & CIS
  • BLAST Bounty Hunt

What’s up next for them? Beyond Epic event starting tomorrow, June 15th. Tune in to see if they can do it again, or if it was just a fluke 😉

Python joins Heretics

Python has inked a deal with Heretics after a spot in the Spanish organization’s roster opened up following Nabil “Nivera” Benrlitom’s departure to Vitality. The 18-year-old therefore takes the baton from a former Wonderkids teammate, as Python and Nivera competed together early on in their careers in the French team put together and fostered by veteran Boris “flex0r” Latry.

Heretics, who recently sacked their coach after the ESIC’s findings regarding the spectator bug were announced and now lost one of their top performing players to Vitality, have struggled to find the form they showed earlier this year when they finished sixth at ESL One: Road to Rio, and will count on the incoming youngster to help revitalize the lineup.

Python has already started for Heretics once, in a 2-1 victory over Movistar Riders in the LOOT.BET Season 8 Swiss group stage, which he ended with a 1.08 rating. His second appearance, the first since his official signing by the Madrid-based organization, is scheduled for Tuesday at 11:50 , in the team’s third LOOT.BET Season 8 match, where they will face Virtus.pro.

Other than competing at the ongoing LOOT.BET Season 8, Heretics are also set to play the upcoming Betway Nine to Five 5 cup starting on October 26, where Python will have a chance to get more official matches with his new team under his belt.

Heretics are now:

France Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey
France Alexandre “xms” Forté
France Bryan “Maka” Canda
France Lucas “Lucky” Chastang
France Jordan “Python” Munck-Foehrle

Apeks sign jkaem

Apeks have announced that they have completed the signing of Joakim “jkaem” Myrbostad from 100 Thieves for an undisclosed fee. The 26-year-old has signed a three-year deal with the Norwegian organisation, reuniting with his former G2 teammate Dennis “dennis” Edman.

jkaem returns to Norway after almost three years in North America, where he competed for Renegades and 100 Thieves. He played his final match for the Australian team on Sunday — a 3-1 defeat to FURIA in the grand final of IEM New York — before the organisation officially withdrew from Counter-Strike.

jkaem completes Apeks’ roster

“I had plans to return to Norway sooner or later. I didn’t know when it would happen, but with the situation in 100 Thieves, my thoughts of coming home became clearer,” jkaem said in a statement. “Apeks came with an offer that I was happy with, and after giving it some thought, it was the right decision. The idea of contributing to help to build the Norwegian esports scene became the deciding factor.”

In the Norwegian team, jkaem will once again link up with dennis after the pair briefly played together in 2015 in the G2 team that reached the semi-finals at the DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca Major. dennis went on to join fnatic, while jkaem stayed with the team, which was bought by FaZe at the start of 2016.

Anders Kjær, Apeks’ director of sports, expressed his delight at the signing of one of Norway’s most experienced players and stated that this move will mark the start of a new cycle for the team.

“One of our biggest ambitions has been to bring back Norwegian stars while they still have a lot to give in their careers,” he said. “Joakim is a gigantic resource in many ways and will impact the team in a tremendously positive degree. We will contribute with a very specific ‘know-how’ around how to become the best, both as a team and as individual players. He has played with many different teams and players, which has given him a lot of experience throughout his career. All that experience is extremely difficult and time-consuming to acquire, and it’s something we’re hoping he will pass on to the others. I really believe this step will do gigantic things for us, but it will definitely take some time.”

Apeks will compete in Elisa Invitational 2, a Nordic-based tournament that will offer one spot in the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown. The Norwegian team have been placed in Group B alongside ENCE, MAD Lions and AGF.

With jkaem‘s signing, Apeks now have:

Norway Ole “Marcelious” Kristian Langan
Norway Sander “Grusarn” Iversen
Sweden Dennis “dennis” Edman
Norway Martin “Nasty” Garvik
Norway Joakim “jkaem” Myrbostad

Norway Pål “Polly” Kammen (coach)
