Digital assets firm Kraken will be supporting four new crypto-assets: Axie Infinity (AXS), Chiliz (CHZ), Origin Protocol (OGN) and Perpetual Protocol (PERP).
The Kraken team notes in an update that deposits for all four digital assets are available now. Trading will start on July 13, 2021 at around 15:30 UTC for all assets. Deposits for all assets are now being accepted.
Trading is not available to US, Canada, Australia and Japan residents, the Kraken team clarified. Effective July 6, 2021, trading is also being supported for Covalent (CQT). Kraken now offers trading on over 60 cryptocurrencies.
Here’s a summary of the newly listed crypto-assets available for deposit on Kraken:
Axie Infinity Shards (AXS) – Axie Infinity is an Ethereum-based game where players are able to earn AXS tokens via gameplay across its universe. Acting as a cross between Pokemon and Cryptokitties, participants are “incentivized to collect, raise and battle Axies in the Axie Infinity kingdom.” Players can “earn AXS by battling their Axies with other players or selling the ones they breed on Axie Infinity’s marketplace.” AXS holders can also “stake their tokens to participate in the game’s governance and vote on upgrades to its software.”
Chiliz (CHZ) – is the cryptocurrency used by sports fans “to purchase ‘Fan Tokens’ on the socios.com platform.” These tokens “allow participants to influence their favorite teams by voting on decisions while also earning engagement-based rewards.” Chiliz also “operates a cryptocurrency exchange platform where fan tokens can be purchased and traded.”
Origin Protocol (OGN) – Built on Ethereum, the Origin Protocol is a platform that “operates an online marketplace where anyone can share goods and services.” The origin team is also “expanding its marketplace to incorporate a launchpad for NFT creators to customize their content, such as digital art, music and video highlights, and grow their business.” Holders of the Origin Tokens (OGN) can “stake them and vote on the rules and direction of the network.”
Perpetual Protocol (PERP) – Perpetual Protocol is a decentralized exchange designed “to facilitate the buying and selling of perpetual contracts, such as leverage trading and short positions, in a way that mirrors a traditional exchange.”
While commenting on the time that funding and trading will begin, Kraken noted:
- Funding: Already available – you can “deposit AXS, CHZ, OGN and PERP now.”
- Trading: Starts July 13 “at approximately 15:30 UTC (Kraken will enable order entry and execution at this time).”
Updates will be “posted on the status page near launch time,” Kraken confirmed while noting that the trading pairs for AXS, CHZ, OGN and PERP will be USD and EUR. (Note: for more information and instructions on how to deposit these assets, check here.)
Trading is available right now on Kraken, Kraken Pro, and not yet available on Kraken Futures, Margin Trading.
While commenting on whether Kraken will list more assets, the company noted:
“Yes. But our policy is not to reveal any details until shortly before launch – not even which assets we are considering. All of Kraken’s listed tokens are available on our website, and all future tokens will be announced on Kraken’s blog and social media profiles. Our client engagement specialists cannot answer any questions about which assets we may be listing in the future.”
