‘Average LED video wall pixel pitch to fall to 2.1mm’

Date:

The average pixel pitch of LED video displays shipped globally is set to decline to 2.1mm by 2026.

That’s according to the latest report from market research company Omdia.

The company puts the average pixel pitch in 2019 at 3.1mm, but all figures are heavily influenced by the highly developed LED video wall market and industry in China.

China is leading the global trend toward smaller pixel pitches. It has a higher ratio of dvLED to flat panel displays than other regions, particularly in the transport, hospitality, healthcare and control room sectors.

Omdia predicts that for indoor fine pixel pitch video wall displays (<=1.9mm pixel pitch), the share of LCD in Chinese projects will decline from 68.9% in 2019 to 30% by 2026.

Omdia also reports that 1.2mm LED video walls are becoming more common in command and control rooms, with 0.8mm pixel pitch products also emerging. They are gaining attention, despite high prices, as the only bezel-less alternatives to LCD.
