Riot premieres Worlds 2021 official song ‘Burn It All Down’

Published

on

Earlier today, Riot Games revealed the official song and supplementary music video for this year’s League of Legends World Championship.

The song is titled “Burn it All Down” and features lead vocals from pop music group PVRIS. The track itself is built on a heavy techno inspiration with a punching bassline and up-tempo melody throughout its three-and-a-half-minute runtime.

As is tradition with the annual Worlds song, the music video for “Burn it All Down” features countless animated League of Legends pros who have all been to the World Championship in years past. Players at this year’s tournament who were featured in the music video included EDward Gaming AD Carry Viper, DWG KIA mid laner ShowMaker, and Hanwha Life Esports mid laner Chovy, among others.

Additionally, some players who failed to qualify for this year’s tournament, including TSM mid laner PowerOfEvil and G2 Esports AD Carry Rekkles, were also featured in the music video for “Burn it All Down”.

Unlike the last three World Championships, there will be no supplemental release by one of League’s in-game pop bands, namely K/DA or True Damage, alongside the official Worlds anthem.

With that being said, though, this year’s Worlds song comes at the tail-end of an incredibly busy year for Riot Games’ music department. With the release of an instrumental album in Sessions: Vi back in July and the return of the company’s in-house metal band Pentakill earlier this month, Riot’s music team has been pumping out new releases throughout the entire back half of 2021.

“Burn it All Down” is now available to stream via major music streaming services. The League of Legends World Championship begins on Oct. 5 at 6am CT.

IGC announce legal proceedings against 9z over nonpayment of meyern buyout

Published

on

According to Dexerto, 9z are currently facing legal action after the Immortals Gaming Club (IGC) — the parent company of MIBR — filed a complaint to the Superior Court of California, in which they allege that the Argentinian organization have failed to pay the transfer fee of Ignacio “meyern” Meyer.

Documents indicate that a transfer fee of $35,000 was agreed to between the two organisations for meyern, which IGC claim has never been paid, in part or in full, despite 9z stating “numerous times that payment would be forthcoming.”

The 19-year-old rifler played for 9z in 2020 from June to December, joining the team after a six-month stint with MIBR. He was moved to the bench by mutual agreement at the end of the year and allowed to explore his options, and recently joined Furious on a loan agreement with 9z that will last until December 31, 2021.

meyern played for 9z for a period of three months in 2020

According to evidence obtained by Dexerto, IGC have made attempts to settle the matter outside of court, but have been unsuccessful over the course of multiple months as 9z failed to provide timely responses and updates on efforts to settle the fee, often taking weeks to reply.

In the court case, IGC are pursuing unspecified damages, which includes but isn’t limited to the transfer fee in question. Tomi Kovanen, IGC’s Chief Operating Officer, says that the intent behind pursuing the matter in court has more to do with rooting out bad actors in the esports industry than getting what the organisation is owed.

Should the courts side with IGC, 9z could also face sanctions from the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC), should the matter be referred to the watchdog group.

The public relations director for 9z, Mariela Silvi, pointed towards bank problems as the reason for the delay in payment, stating that the Central Bank of Argentina adopted new regulations amid the coronavirus pandemic that limited bank transfers in foreign currency and transfers in dollars for the payment of debts.

Silvi also told Dexerto that the payment had been made “on time and in the agreed manner,” and that following the new bank regulations, “it was agreed that 9z should make the payment with certain characteristics” — the details of which Silvi says cannot be disclosed for confidentiality reasons.

Main phase of ESEA Premier Season 38 finishes, 8-team playoff bracket set

Published

on

The 38th season of ESEA Premier: Europe in CS:GO is reaching its conclusion, as the tournament’s main phase has just finished. Four teams from Group A and four from Group B have advanced to the playoffs, which begin on Oct. 12 after IEM Fall Europe concludes.

The best squad in Group A turned out to be Team BLINK, which managed to fall short only once in this stage, losing to Sprout in August. Sprout also survived the group stage, moving forward as the fourth seed. The second and third best teams in Group A are French mix DBL Poney and Turkish team Sangal Esports, respectively. SAW, Enterprise, Akuma and Apeks fell short and failed to qualify for the next stage.

Three Polish teams found themselves in Group B, which left many Polish fans worried. Nevertheless, the squads came out strong, with x-kom AGO, Wisla Kraków, and Anonymo Esports all managing to end up in the top four. The final team among the playoff contenders is LDLC, which managed to finish third in the group. GamerLegion, Endpoint, Movistar Riders, and SKADE won’t be moving on to the next phase.

Now, some teams will have earned a two-week break before the playoffs begin. A lot is at stake here. The winner will qualify directly to Season 15 of ESL Pro League. The runner-up will have to try his luck in Season 15 of the EPL Conference, which is a new addition to the ESL Pro Tour calendar and will give an additional two slots in the upcoming season of Pro League.

It’s also worth adding that each team competing in ESEA Premier’s playoffs gets a place in the next season of the league and a share of a prize pool. The winner will collect $20,000.

As for the playoff bracket, the winner of each group faces the fourth team of the opposite group, while the runner-ups will battle it out with the third seeds from the opposing groups. The playoffs will feature a double-elimination bracket, meaning every contender gets a second chance. The matchups for the upper bracket quarterfinals will go as follows:

  • x-kom AGO vs. Sprout
  • LDLC vs. Double Poney
  • Sangal Esports vs. Anonymo Esports
  • Team BLINK vs. Wisla Kraków

ESEA Premier Season 38 will return on Oct. 12. The games will be streamed on ESL’s main Twitch channel.

How to fix the New world black screen error

Published

on

New World is finally out and players are already flooding into the servers to start their journey from scratch for the final time. Though most game developers spend days and months preparing for their game’s launch, something can always go wrong and affect the experience of fans.

The black screen error is one of these errors and it usually appears whenever a player is done creating their character and ready to hop onto a server. When the black screen error occurs, players may get the feeling that New World is frozen or bugged out and they might need to restart the game. The game hardly gets frozen with the black screen error since it appears when it fails to find you a server in a given amount of time.

When you see the black screen error, the game will still continue to find you a server, meaning you can wait out the black screen error. If you give it some time and continue staying in the queue when you receive the black screen error, you’ll eventually get into a server and the black screen error will disappear on its own.

If there doesn’t seem to be any signs of progress, however, you can try restarting your game and creating a character on a new server. Considering the game just came out, this looks like an error that will likely be gone within a few weeks as the hype levels return back to their normal levels or Amazon Game Studios level up their server game to match the demand.

Players who constantly receive the black screen error even during hours with fewer players online may need to delete the game and install it from scratch to ensure they don’t have any corrupted files preventing them from logging into a server.

The black screen error looks like it should disappear on its own within a couple of hours but if you can seem to get rid of it, sending a support ticket to Amazon can also be a valid option. They’ll have more resources to pinpoint the root of the error for you.
