Apex Legends Global Series : Split 1 Recap

Date:

Split 1 of the Apex Legends Global Series is slowly coming to a close. Over the course of the regular season, 200 esports teams across the globe fought to call themselves the best.

Fans have seen quite a few performances from their favorite teams during the last six weeks. However, once the dust has settled, only 20 teams from each region will qualify for the split 1 playoffs. The rest are either sent to regulation or must sit out until split 2.

All those who haven’t qualified still remain in the pro league, except for the bottom eight teams of each region. These teams will need to re-qualify for split 2 by attending the Qualifiers event, which takes place throughout January.

So far, each region has seen a total of 36 games. Then, using previous points and event placements, teams were split into groups of ten. For example, fans just witnessed the smaller regions of South America and APAC South settle the score this past weekend. Both DreamFire and Singularity became victorious in these regions securing $50 thousand each of the total $125 thousand per region prize pools.

Some of the big names of the North American and European sides of the pro league playoffs include , NRG, and TSM. After all, the latter is none other than the X-Games Apex Legends champions. The showdown to secure a piece of the whooping $750 thousand prize pool will for sure be something to behold.

Each region will be playing for a quarter of a million dollars with the 3 championship teams taking home $100 thousand each. We will also see the players with the most kills taking home the Apex Predators award and $1,500 bonus. Starting January 22, Apex Legends enthusiasts can catch their favorite teams as they battle it out on the big screen.
