Animal Crossing: New Horizons And FIFA 21 Top Germany Sales For 2020

Both titles topped 1 million sales in the region.

Animal Crossing New Horizons - Turkey Day

Looking back at the sales of 2020 has largely been a familiar affair. The titles that you expect to top the charts did, the evergreen titles that has been selling steadily are still selling steadily, and so on and so forth. However, it seems that one title has stuck out more than maybe expected regardless of the region. Animal Crossing: New Horizons took the franchise to new heights through Europe and the US, and it seems Germany is no exception. It joins an old favorite at the top of the sales for last year.

Game.de reported their monthly sales awards and confirmed that Animal Crossing: New Horizons passed 1 million sales in the region. The only other title to do so is FIFA 21, EA’s juggernaut football title, when it passed that number in November 2020. These are based on sales data from GfK, which Nintendo does not share digital sales with. Between that and being on a single platform, it shows how impressive a feat it ultimately was.

Other notable sale milestones was Cyberpunk 2077 selling over 500,000 despite releasing late in December and also not sharing digital numbers with GfK. The Last of Us Part 2 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla joined 2077 in that same bracket, while Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales passed 200,000, and to round out the awards 51 Worldwide Games, Just Dance 2021 and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity all passed the 100,000 mark (big thanks to ResetERA user DarkDetective for translating and transcribing this all out).

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been something of a sales beast ever since its launch last year. It was announced the game had surpassed 26 million units sold as of November 2020, meaning it’s probably closed in on, if not surpassed, the 30 million mark by now. It managing to be up there with the FIFA series in European markets is quite something.

6 Things We Learned From Playing the Outriders Demo

Avatar

In a few short days, we’ve managed to learn quite a bit about Square Enix’s new co-op RPG. The Outriders demo went live just last week, and it allows players to go through the entire first chapter of the game with friends.

We managed to sink a couple of hours into the demo and came away with a few big takeaways. Here are the six things we learned from playing the Outriders demo.

Side Quests Can Be Farmed

outriders demo side quests

Sometimes, you just don’t get the loot that you wanted from a mission or boss encounter. If that happens in Outriders, you can simply try again.

To be more specific, side quests in Outriders can be repeated infinitely —even in the demo. The boss fight against Captain Reiner is the perfect example of a side quest that you’d want to farm, allowing you to go back and get revenge on the man who did this to you as much as you want while also rewarding you plenty.

From what the demo shows, most side quests aren’t even very long at all. This means that farming runs should be relatively quick and rewarding for players who want to farm for the best loot available.

Today Aerosoft finally announced the release date of its Bombardier CRJ package for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

The much-anticipated add-on will launch on March 16. The release will happen at the same time on Aerosoft’s own store and on the Microsoft Flight Simulator official marketplace at the same time.

On top of the announcement, we get two new videos showcasing the aircraft’s procedures.

To be more specific, we see the engine startup and the taxi and take-off, as usual, narrated by TheDude, a very experienced real-world CRJ pilot.

We already know that the pricing will be as follows:

  • The CRJ 550/700 will cost €42 (plus your local vat when applicable).
  • The CRJ 900/100 will cost €16.75 (plus your local vat when applicable).
  • The CRJ 900/1000 will require the CRJ 550/700 to be installed on the system.

The second package should come approximately 6-12 weeks after the first.

Incidentally, if you’d like to read more, you can take a look at our extensive interview with project manager Mathijs Kok.
