Nearly a month ago, the first Amazon Fresh Store opened in Seattle, Washington, nel which debuted Just Walk Out technology, which uses a combination of visors, sensors and deep learning, and connects to the customer’s Amazon account or the credit card associated with the account. Customers are asked at the store’s front doors to choose whether they want to use check out free shopping or traditional checkouts where they can pay with cash.

There will also be the possibility to pay with Amazon Dash, thanks to this and a combination of algorithms and sensors, the items that the customer places within the same cart will be automatically recognized and users will therefore only need to pass through the Dash Cart lane to automatically complete the payment.

A large store that has immediately had a positive feedback from the public, as stated in an interview, Dilip Kumar vice president of Physical Retail and Technology at Amazon, both for the speed of purchase, thus leaving room for the customer, to do other errands, and because the brand focuses on quality and convenience.

Some things have already changed since its launch, Amazon Fresh from a simple fresh food delivery service, is preparing to debut its first dedicated physical store.

The location chosen by the e-commerce giant is Woodland Hills, California, where Amazon Prime users have been able to take advantage of home grocery delivery for several months now.

Inside the store of Woodland Hills customers will enjoy a service tailored to their needs, then a wide assortment of both private labels and well-known U.S. national brands, both a wide selection of fresh: meat, seafood and a range of baked goods and delicatessen, as well as prepared foods daily. 

In order to meet everyone’s needs, there is a focus on e-commerce, same-day delivery and pickup of groceries will be guaranteed directly in Amazon Fresh stores. Customers will be able to pick up their orders at the store, or by parking at a designated pick-up point.

In addition, Amazon Fresh also offers package pickup from Amazon.com and free return of products without a package.
