Alpine Esports has officially signed Affinity in what is the first major Rocket League team investment for Alpine Esports. Affinity was formerly a professional Rocket League team that qualified for the Rocket League Championship Series, or RLCS, the game’s biggest bi-annual tournament.

Alpine Esports has officially signed Affinity in what is the first major esports team for Alpine Esports. Alpine’s acquisition of Affinity marks the first time in Rocket League history that a triple-nation team will be competing in the RLCS, with team members Percy, Majicbear, Jordan and Creamz representing Mexico, USA, Canada and Canada, respectively.

Alpine Esports is based in Minneapolis, MN and is focused on supporting its communities, inspiring positivity, and competing with passion.

When asked about the acquisition of Affinity, Jake Utities, GM at Alpine Esports, said, “From the first conversation, it was clear this team was made up of hard working players and on top of that just good people, something we look for in our partnerships. We look forward to growing together as a team and organization.”

When asked about making their decision to go with Alpine, Affinity stated: “Being in the RLRS last season was an unforgettable experience, and qualifying for it motivated us beyond what words can express. We took that motivation with us throughout the season and made a first place finish to start our professional careers in the RLCS. We are glad to team up with the great people over at Alpine for our next chapter and are ready to prove to everyone that we belong here next season.”

At the heart of Alpine is community. With a focus on social justice and ensuring we are doing our part, Alpine Esports is proud to announce our collaboration with the Northside Impact Fund, a collective of organizations and programs focused on North Minneapolis to support and stabilize the underserved community. Alpine has committed to $18,000 in donations to the fund, and pledges to match an additional $18,000 for all individual donations now through June 30th.

When asked about this newfound collaboration, Alpine Esports CEO, Mike Zweigbaum, expressed the following sentiment: “The Northside Impact Fund is truly an incredible initiative that is bringing much needed support and providing some immediate stability to North Minneapolis Communities. It is an honor and privilege to be able to support our communities and their members in the tireless efforts they are putting forth to help those who need our attention the most right now.”

Through this collaboration, Alpine Esports will be focused on making an impact in the following areas:

ECONOMIC: Funds benefit organizations and projects working for a prosperous North Minneapolis.
EDUCATION: Funds benefit organizations and projects working to close the achievement gap.
HEALTH, FITNESS, WELLNESS: Funds benefit organizations and projects that lead to a healthy North Minneapolis.
ENVIRONMENT Funds benefit organizations and projects that work to create a sustainable and beautiful Community.
