Accidental Wattson Nerf Breaks Her Ultimate

An accidental nerf to Wattson included in the Evolution Collection Event update gutted the Legend’s ultimate ability, preventing it from blocking throwables as normal.

When Apex Legends Season 10’s Evolution Collection Event went live Tuesday, it included a change that didn’t appear in the patch notes. That change was a nerf to Wattson that prevented her pylons from destroying grenades and other throwables that are tossed into its radius.

Twitter user @lilekeyLK posted a video of the weakened ultimate ability Wednesday and tagged a developer at Respawn Entertainment in the tweets.

“Pylon does NOT currently destroy grenades properly,” Lila tweeted. “it does NOT block ordinance within the inner radius a majority of the time.”

On the other hand, Lila noted that a previous bug that would zap outgoing grenades has now been fixed. It’s possible the fix and bug are connected, though that has yet to be confirmed by Respawn Entertainment.

Respawn developer support Pav replied to Lila, assuring them the footage and bug had been sent along to the team “to look into.” Now that Respawn Entertainment is aware of the bug, it likely won’t be long before it issues a fix and restores Wattson to her normal grenade-blocking ways.

Quincy Crew to undergo “significant changes”

Published

on

One of North America’s strongest and longest-lasting teams is going to look radically different come next season.

Quincy Crew, whose core players have stuck together even through disbanded organizations, will likely see “significant changes” according to Jack Chen, manager for Quincy Crew.

“Most of us have been together for awhile and it’s time for people to explore other opportunities,” said Chen. “There are no hard feelings, no one is being kicked, it’s just time to see what else is out there.”

This decision comes after Quincy Crew placed at the bottom half of the field at The International 10 after losing to OG. While the Crew dominated domestically, especially in recent years, achieving second and first in seasons one and two of this year’s Dota Pro Circuit North American Regional League, international results rarely followed. The crew’s best showing at an offline event with its current roster was a top six placement at the WePlay AniMajor.

Besides Evil Geniuses, the lack of organizational support in the NA Dota scene have affected even Quincy Crew, regularly regarded as one of the best teams in the region. It’s still an impressive feat that several of their players have stuck together for so long. But with every American team in the bottom half of TI10, it’s likely that rather than just Quincy Crew, several teams will be undergoing changes for the upcoming season.

CoD: Mobile season 9: Modern Warfare’s Havoc Sawmill is coming to the game

Published

on

Call of Duty: Mobile’s season nine is almost here and Activision has started revealing upcoming features in it.

The first of these is a new map from the Call of Duty franchise. Modern Warfare’s Havoc Sawmill is coming to the game in the next season, which is rumored to be called Nightmare.

Get ready with your night vision goggles as Havoc Sawmill appears to be a night map. It’s fairly large with a lot of open spaces between many buildings and is set in a rural village.

With Halloween approaching on Oct. 31, a themed map around the holiday is also being re-added to the game. Today, the developer confirmed that Halloween Standoff is coming back to CoD: Mobile. The map has been set in the spooky night and is decorated with Halloween-themed festivities. Activision also revealed that a “surprise mystery” is coming, but it’s unclear what it is.

CoD: Mobile’s season nine will begin next week. An official release date hasn’t been revealed yet. Other than the two maps, players can expect a lot of other features to join the game. This includes a new battle pass containing exciting awards.

While no other information about season nine has been revealed yet, it could be called Nightmare. A social media post by the game’s Chinese version has hinted towards the same.

Fans will just have to wait a few more days, though, to find out everything about the new season as Activision releases the patch notes.

This won’t be the first encounter between the two Chinese teams in the playoffs either, as they had competed in the winners’ bracket semifinals earlier. Q9 won this bout 4-1 and will be looking to repeat that in the finals.

The teams will play a best-of-seven series to decide the winner. It will happen at the Beijing University Gymnasium from 4am CT onwards. You can tune in to the competition live on Douyu and Huya.

Besides the world championship spot, the winner will also walk away with 1.2 million Chinese Yuan (about $186,000). The runners-up will get 600,000 Chinese Yuan (about $93,228)
