While the engine is small, it does have ample power and it is also relatively efficient, which is a plus at a time when gasoline prices are so high.
Exterior
The exterior of the 2022 Equinox RS AWD comes with its own unique grille with the Chevrolet Bowtie and badging all in black. It is also equipped with black, 19-inch wheels and black around the windows, matching the badging and the grille. There also are black roof rails.
The Equinox is also dressed up with LED headlights and daytime running lights up front and LED tail lamps. Another impressive touch is the door handles that are the same color as the body panels. The overall effect helps dress up the vehicle’s familiar silhouette and takes a rather anonymous vehicles and makes it something that actually will catch your eye — a good trick.
Interior
The interior of the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox RS AWD is neatly furnished with a nice mix of materials, including a leather-wrapped steering wheel, giving the vehicle a more upscale feel. The seats are comfortable and can be adjusted at the press of a button.
There are also dual-zone climate controls since the vehicle is specifically designed to carry passengers. GM leans heavily on knobs for controls for the HVAC and sound but there is also a touch screen in the center stack and steering wheel controls for the entertainment system and cruise control. The key fob operates the power rear lift gate and the space accessible from the rear of the vehicles is wide and surprisingly deep. The view from the heated front seats is excellent and the seats in the second row also come with cupholders.

The vehicle’s overall ride and handling is very good thanks to the solid suspension that give the Equinox a surprisingly smooth ride over varied road surfaces, including gravel or dirt. The Equinox might not look like it has a lot of driving flair, but it’s well tuned to the demands of everyday driving.
