A marijuana shop in Coolidge Corner is opening Saturday. Here’s what you need to know.

Date:

Brookline’s second recreational marijuana shop is giving new meaning to the Green Line.

Sanctuary Medicinal, a cannabis company operating in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, is planning a “soft opening” Saturday for its adult-use dispensary in Coolidge Corner, just steps away from the neighborhood’s eponymous MBTA stop.

Located at 1351 Beacon St., the pot shop will open at 10 a.m. with “a full array” of adult-use cannabis products, including flower, tinctures, concentrates, topicals, and edibles. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, walk-in customers are currently not allowed; visitors must reserve their order and schedule a pick-up time on the dispensary’s website.

Sanctuary Medicinals CEO Jason Sidman says the company — which received final approval from state regulators on July 15 — is “thrilled” to officially join the “vibrant retail community” in Massachusetts.

“Over the last several months, we have had the pleasure of getting to know our Beacon Street neighbors and we aim to return their warm welcome with increased foot traffic that benefits all,” he said in a statement.

Two dispensaries have since opened within the actual city of Boston — in Dorchester and in East Boston — as well as in the neighboring city of Newton.

Sanctuary Medicinals operates three other marijuana dispensaries in Massachusetts, including a colocated recreational-medical shop in Gardner; the other two locations, located in Danvers and Woburn, are only open to registered medical patients. The company also has medical dispensaries in Conway and Plymouth, New Hampshire.

The new Brookline location’s hours will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays. Easily accessible from the Green Line C Branch, Sanctuary Medicinals strongly suggests customers travel to the store by either public transportation, ride-share services, or BlueBikes. The company also suggests the 66 bus route and has an online transportation guide.

To limit the spread of the coronavirus, customers will be required to both a wear face covering and use a hand sanitizer station prior to entering the store’s reception vestibule. Company officials will also offer single-use face coverings and gloves, according to…
